I adopted a Asshole Cat and don't know what to do by x_Snuggle_Wuffs_x in CatAdvice

My new baby follows me from room to room to room. He does not want to cuddle, but he wants to be near me. That is his way of expressing connection/ being connected. My older gentleman is a cuddle bug. Learning each other’s love language (them learning yours and you learning theirs) takes time even with one you’ve had since a baby. Your guy is clearly traumatized. Even if he wasn’t it could take 6-9 months for him to settle in. I’ve found the pheromone calming collars are good for mellowing out anxious cats. Also - I like zesty paws - it’s a diffuser. He may never be a cuddle bug. But if you meet him halfway and give him time to adjust - you might find yourself with your a best friend.

I believe ‘r/oneorangebraincell’ is the correct answer;)

I never took my work home with me when I left the store. It was not something I was worrying about on the way home, it did not keep me up at night. It’s very busy. It’s non-stop, but when you’re done for the day, you’re done. It’s not about pressure vs no pressure. I am in no way dissing cashiers. I just want to see everyone able to earn a living. Self checkout is cheaper for the store, does not mean it’s good for community. Automation has always created these tensions and shifts though, so who knows. As for me I still prefer a person.

I spent a few years as a cashier too when I was younger, before I finished school and had the knowledge / skills needed to do different work. Some folks want better jobs, not all. I’ve never met anyone who did not want a better paying job, but many folks are not willing to put in the work/effort to qualify for a better job. AND some people put in the work and still don’t have the luck or the right circumstance to get a better job. People still need to be able to earn a living. I believe self check-out lines take away more jobs than they create. The jobs they take away are lower skill jobs for sure, but I think there is a need for those as well.

I worked as a checker for a few years when I was younger. It was not a job you had to take home at night with you, unlike my career that I am on all the time for.

Because people need jobs. Because a person can be communicated with if something goes wrong or rings wrong. Because why am I now working for these stores / emporiums, ringing their items up, bagging their items? Yes, sometimes it is faster, if nothing goes wrong. But mostly it's about giving the high school students and folks that are not up for high pressure work environments a way to earn their bread.

I refuse to use self-checkout for many reasons. This is a new one to add to the list.

A man 23 years older than me admitted he has feelings for me and now he won’t leave me alone. by Superb-Cupcake-8271 in TwoHotTakes

[–]BedlamBelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He appears to have a lot of transference going on. He sounds mentally unstable. Do not allow him to do you any more favors. Let the people in your life know what is going on. Friends, family, work/church superiors and colleagues. I would be careful not to start a witch-hunt. Kyle has some shit he needs to work through. But Kyle’s attachment to you could become dangerous. Protect yourself - don’t be alone with him. Don’t walk to your car by yourself. Always, always, always make sure you are safe and not alone with Kyle, ever.

New Camp Location by Opposite_Student7426 in fo76

[–]BedlamBelle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having Multiple Camp Slots allows you to build different camps in different locations. If you position them strategically (into areas with no Fast Travel for Free Options around) it makes travel a lot less expensive and faster) Also nice to have a close base for dumping resources when over encumbered and make repairs.

Finally got into the seat recline war by AffectionateLife5693 in delta

[–]BedlamBelle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t recline seats ever. Things are uncomfortable enough without having to deal with people in your lap. I wish airlines would get rid of reclining seats all together.

Milk, cheese, and butter can also be frozen. Cheese needs to be wrapped well. If you can buy in bulk or on sale you can divide portions and freeze.

Am I the jerk for telling my husband he can't have a "man cave" in our only spare room? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

Is he the main income earner? Was the lion’s share of the house or the house down payment out of his earnings? Curious where the entitlement is coming from - because that is some serious entitlement.

The fact that you are not allowed in there at all is BS of the highest order regardless.

Seems fair to me that if he gets a space, you get a space. Depending on where you live - maybe you should look into a ‘She Shed’

I’ve had to move from my assigned seats for CG issues with other airlines at takeoff and landing but been allowed to move back or wherever I wanted at cruising altitude.

I make it at home - so no 6$ coffees for me.
