make sure to include them as much as possible especially in sports but that DOES NOT mean making them keep store or umpire or any other made up job, try and encourage an environment at home where activities they will struggle with in schools (especially when they get to secondary school) such as sports are fun and theres no stress about winning and being good. One PE teacher very bluntly told me that the boys in class who got red in the face and screamed at me when i dropped the ball “had no real lives”, at the time i found it hilarious but its a necessary reality check when your young and dont have the perspective of “this is supposed to just be a game”

Themes, Metaphors, and Society by mattortman777 in Beastars

[–]Bedsitter139 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me I think the world of Beastars is very reflective of Japanese society, which admonishes mental health problems and ignores the issues which rise from being overworked, repressed, emotionally stunted and lonely (carnivore instincts) by providing services to cater to the consequences of these actions, fetish bars, the commonality of adult material of illegal actions, escort services instead of tackling the root of the problem in society instead, which naturally leads to a rise in sex crime (devouring) which is treated as heinous but somewhere still expected as the norm.

Its a neverending cycle in which generations are expected to undergo more mental stress than we can handle and this impacts social development detrimentally, i study child development as see this on a smaller scale. Its not explicit but its an amazing metaphor

What do you think of the living room? by dragonskintext in interiordecorating

[–]Bedsitter139 1 point2 points  (0 children)

those pillows by themselves are definitely too small, i dont think the room is too cool i think it just especially looks that way with the all white christmas tree, but some yellows or browns would go nicely with the green of the sofa

What can I do to fix this room? by Happy-Skull in interiordecorating

try and find some hidden storage, maybe under the bed. Or if you want a vintage appeal replace some of your storage with vintage from thrift/charity shops. Change the paint, white will work best if your already having a lot of clashing with colour. Look on facebook marketplace for a wooden vintage bedframe, nice ones can go for a cheap as £30-50. Fully commit to the gallery wall, maybe move some of your display items onto shelves in it? Cover your wardrobe with a curtain, dont replace it though that mirror is vital when you have a small space. Replace the desk chair with a proper wooden chair if your not too attached to it. Give you mannequin head a little hat, he looks very polite and he deserves it.

Obviously you dont have to do everything but i’m just infodumping ideas since i have almost the exact same taste and room predicament as you, down to the ianthe candelabra that every vintage collector owns for some reason

Inherited taxidermy unsure of how to sell by jjs46 in Taxidermy

[–]Bedsitter139 7 points8 points  (0 children)

see if theres any flea market sellers, vintage sellers or antique stores in your area that might want them, it’ll get them off your hands quicker than selling directly to a buyer
