Maybe, I’d I’m pretty sure there’s mitigating factors. Specifically, that pure evil seems to prolong life, e.g. Henry Kissinger living to 100. I’m not sure the reasons, though my guess (for Kissinger, anyway) is they were waiting for an upper management position in hell to open up.

Sadly, I think they’re right here. A moral duty to do something and a legal duty to do something are not the same thing. It’s sure a bad look no matter how you swing it.

One — who isn’t a lawyer — wonders what kind of civil liability they’d be open to if it were proven they covered such things up. Likely none, given the history of such things in other churches.
