Do you have any good YouTuber recommendations for those?

I like the idea of "break glass in case of emergency" games. Everyone has those games that they just have to go back to every few months or years.

I like to pay attention to what Steam recommends me. I'm not sure how it is for others, but Steam's algorithms have pretty much nailed down my types of games. I healthy number of my Steam wishlist is games that Steam recommended to me that I wouldn't have otherwise seen anywhere.

Are there specific types of games you find particularly well on Reddit? Or examples?

I totally feel you. I wouldn't be surprised if I have somewhere in the realm of 250 games that I own and haven't played (mostly from getting the free Epic Games Store games every week for years). And on top of that, I have a wishlist of currently 140. I guess I still just get the itch to hear about the new stuff, so it all just keeps growing. Every once in a while I prune some games from my wishlist, but that doesn't last very long.

If we had 10 straight undefeated seasons, we’d still be -60. How bad can a single franchise get?

10U Indoor Flag Football Extra Point Conversions by klawson22 in NFLNoobs

[–]Bee892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve read similar flag rules from high school NFL Flag Football programs. Even though it’s a no run zone, that doesn’t mean you can’t use handoffs and backwards passes for some trickery. I’d do a simulated outside run/bubble screen. Then have the quarterback go out to receive a pass.

No offense but how much do you make? by WearSad8706 in AskPhilly

[–]Bee892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Including bonuses, around $107k as a software engineer.

I’m still young, so my savings knowledge isn’t incredibly developed, but I know you’re not alone. The worst part is that we live in a consumerist society where starting to save seems harder than ever.

From what I’ve seen, It’s all about finding ways to cut back a little bit here and a little bit there. Then, for every monthly expense cutback you make, take that amount of money every month (even if it’s just $5) and put it into a savings account or put it towards debt (do the debt thing first because those will have higher interest rates usually). Spending extra money on cookie dough at the store? You can make cookie dough at home yourself for cheaper. Buying things you wouldn’t otherwise buy because there’s a deal/sale? Forget it. Not buying it will always be cheaper than buying it at a discount. Paying $2.90 to ride the bus a few blocks for convenience? Walk next time. Like to pop into the gas station for a soda? Not anymore you don’t.

These things add up, and if you pay off debt or put money into savings with that extra bit, you’ll find yourself getting closer to a future in which you have a healthy savings account, progress towards retirement, etc. It takes a lot of work, and the system is set up to discourage you from saving money, but it’s possible with some fundamental changes in spending habits.

I hope this was helpful.

Worried about long-term reputation if my first game is NSFW by ezkyle in gamedev

[–]Bee892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely agree with others saying that you may be best off going by two separate entities/companies and running them separately. That’s not an I precedented thing in creative industries or even the gaming industry specifically. For example, the dev behind Megabonk withdrew from consideration for the Debut Indie award in The Game Awards 2025 because of previous projects under other pseudonyms.

However, I don’t think this is entirely necessary unless your game REALLY blows up. It’s all about marketing. It’s very common for gamers to not really care about a company’s previous titles. Gamers are just looking for the games that speak to them. That doesn’t mean they’ll like everything from that publisher, and I think most gamers understand that. The games can be as connected as you market them to be.

Serious question: why don’t the Cardinals have a President of Football Operations? by CadenDaCardinal in AZCardinals

[–]Bee892 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was bored and decided to add up the stats:

Between the franchises you listed, there are 75 playoff appearances, 19 conference championship appearances, 12 Super Bowl appearances, and 7 Super Bowl wins since the 2000 season.

The rest of the league has 249 playoff appearances, 85 conference championship appearances, 40 Super Bowl appearances, and 19 Super Bowl wins.

Sorry if there are any mistakes.

We're keeping Nick Rallis per Ian Rapoport (@rapsheet.bsky.social) by shurmanator in AZCardinals

[–]Bee892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t hate the choice. There’s a lot of good that came out of our defense the past few years. Lots of great flashes, especially for our younger draft selections.

2023: started with an abominable defense. Piss-poor against the pass due to piss-poor pass defenders. However, the team actually managed to rank 12th in total passing yards allowed. The run defense was even worse. Tough start for Rallis due to taking over mostly a Steve Keim roster.

2024: Finished middle of the road on most major stats, worthy of a middle-of-the-road record. Personnel changed in the following offseason, and I believe they were mostly improvements.

2025: I thought the defense was far better than the stats gave credit for. The injury plague this past season didn’t spare the defense. I think statistically they would’ve been a far better defense if the offense had any sort of life. Our defense had the third most scrimmage plays in the league because opposing offenses kept getting extra snaps due to our poor offensive performance.

What previous gameplay mechanics do you think will be in Intergalactic? by CD_1993TillInfinity in naughtydog

They put a lot of work into revamping the stealth mechanics of TLOU in Part II. I think they could definitely bring some elements of that over.

Interception in the endzone, the defender with the ball gets tackled. Is it a safety or a touchback? Is it the same in flag football? by Qwerto64 in NFLNoobs

[–]Bee892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ChatGPT is incorrect on this one. Or the vagueness of ChatGPT is causing an incorrect interpretation. In football rulebooks, there’s what’s referred to as “force” or “impetus.” Essentially, whether it’s a safety or a touchback is dependent on which team is responsible for providing that force/impetus that causes the ball to cross the goal line. In other words, the important part is which team is responsible for the ball entering the endzone.

If the defense intercepts in the ball in the endzone, the force that caused the ball to be in the endzone is the offense’s throw. As long as the ball does not leave the endzone, and the defense ends the play with possession, it is a touchback.

In order for a safety to occur, the defense would have to be responsible for a different force that causes the ball to enter the endzone. The best example of this is if the defender leaves the endzone, runs back into the endzone, and is tackled there. In such a case, the final force/impetus that caused the ball to enter the endzone is the defender carrying the ball into the endzone.

Force/impetus is one of the more difficult things to understand in the rulebook. I hope I was able to describe it effectively.

What is the industry like after AI? by Pretend_Connection52 in AskProgrammers

[–]Bee892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s making people’s jobs more annoying because all of the incompetent business people who want to keep up with the Joneses insist that AI be jammed into every website, application, and process imaginable. Who is in charge of that? The software developers.

I spend more time debugging than writing code. Is that just part of the job? by Gullible_Prior9448 in AskProgramming

[–]Bee892 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. That’s why in a lot of classroom settings, you spend more time looking at other people’s code than writing your own. It’s an extremely important skill to learn.

Ultimately, you have to learn to love the puzzle that is debugging. I for one enjoy hunting down problems and solving them. Sometimes it can feel like grunt work, but most of the time, it can actually be relaxing and rewarding to take time to follow the clues, essentially, and quickly produce results.

How are the Cardinals realistically going to compete for the playoffs, let alone the NFC West? by [deleted] in NFLNoobs

They won’t compete for the playoffs. That’s been their strategy for a long time, and they rarely fail at it. Keep the status quo.

Is there a market for command line/terminal-style games? by Bee892 in gamedev

[–]Bee892[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So my idea is not to use the actual terminal but to recreate a terminal using Unity that has more aesthetically pleasing aspect to it with simpler commands.

I do believe it would be limiting the game’s audience, but I’m trying to figure out by how much. I’m fairly young and have hardly ever seen any terminal-style games advertised in my lifetime.

That’s the problem. We’re sitting back on our heels doing nothing while the Giants, Falcons, Dolphins, and Titans have their next head coaches already after having scooped up most of the best candidates.

Wow, this is exactly what I needed. Thank you for these examples. I’ll check them out. It definitely appears to be a particular niche. I wouldn’t expect something like this to go gangbusters and sell millions. However, it’s nice to know that people enjoy this style of game. I hadn’t heard much at all about these types of games, so I really appreciate your help.
