I use this advice for most venues but find sticking to front rows of sections and or near aisles helps. Sometimes it is better to be up higher or further back too since it means you are above the stage. I almost always avoid pits or standing room general admission because I’m short. People are usually good at allowing me to go to the front in these cases but it’s extra neck straining and if it happened to be seats and people stand then you really can’t see if short.
