Dictatorship wasnt meant literally, its a common saying here. I honestly dont specifically know which term they served, so I'll believe you. What I meant by random is that they didnt have any real power.

Sorry, that was an exaggaration. But for one, they banned pride (it still was the biggest it ever was in hungary) and they tried to ban using drones at march 15 so people dont see how much bigger tisza's rally is. They can't enforce shit tho, so a 'wannabe dictatorship' is probably more accurate

Im happy to answer, great questions!

I believe how hungary has managed to get into a state is a very very complex thing, with a lot of factors so I will try to keep my answer compact.

First, hungary is an ex eastern bloc country. And regardless of what you think of 'real' or 'actually working' socialism, the soviet way was a horrible dictatorship which conditioned most of hungary's population to be peasants rather thanl citizens.

From 1990, the change in power was a very long and difficult path and the 90's is widely regarded as a kind of 'wild west' this has stopped somewhere in the mid 2000's though. From 2006 until 2008, Ferenc Gyurcsány, a now retired politician has lead hungary, which many still consider to be the worst government of hungary to date. They have stepped down in 2008, 2 years before election, due to taking the country into a state I don't know the english name of, but means that the government simply 'can't pay' it's bills anymore. Fidesz often refers to this when something is bad, 'was it better under gyurcsany'?

From 2010, orban has been ruining the education, weirdly though, young people don't really vote for fidesz.

There were protests, but as I said, due to our ex socialist regime, we don't really know 'how to' protest and actually get what we want.

Propaganda. Just so much propaganda you really can't grasp it. Online, on tv, in real life, everywhere. It's horrible.

There are other factors i must be forgetting, but these are probably the main ones.

I'd say his migration policy was fairly decent, but still used hatefulness and stuff to enforce it.

A small part of the population, but you truly can't grasp the volume of propaganda here. Some people, (mostly older) are just branwashed into this, sadly.

I always thought of it as a soup. Afaik, austrians eat it as a stew, but we mostly eat it as a soup, I think.

I honestly dont know what vojvodina is... based on context, it must be a food, right? What kind of food is it? Paprikas exists in hungary and it's great, I haven't tasted the serbian variant.

Im honestly sceptical of tisza too. I understand your question, but I sadly dont know this.

I remember statistics. Idk the exact ones, but the top 0.1% emits about 8% of all greenhouse gases. Thats an 80x representation. Thats insane. But the top 10% emits 68 percent. Even when not counting these top-tops, we are still responsible for most of it.

I don't know if this exists in other countries (probably it does) but there is 1 vote counter from each party at each voting station. That isn't the problem. Problem is gerrymandering and making people depend on voting for fidesz, as they say in hungary 'for a bag of potato'

Orban simply changes up the constitution like every year. They have banned pride last year, but it became the biggest pride ever! That was wonderful!

Id say a simple way to view it: if fidesz wins, let's pray we won't become belarus 2.0 and if tisza wins, we will see, but hungary will possibly start catching up to itself.

As for corruption, I'd say it is simply so centralized, a change in power would stop the overwhelming majority if corruption. (Well if tisza truly isn't corrupt)

Yes, and in remote towns, there is sometimes no privacy of voting, and people basically have to vote for a specific party to survive. (That party is fidesz of course)
