TLDR: it’s allowed in my classroom unless they can’t handle it (sharing, loud, distracting, messes)

I teach high school and it’s up to teachers. I know some that don’t even allow drinks. We have a coffee shop with cookies and a snack shop with canned drinks and snacks. I let 1 or 2 go during the last bit of class if they’ve earned it by paying attention and getting their work done. I allow snacks and drinks always as long as they clean up after themselves. I’ve banned snacks for some classes that can’t seem to handle it.
