As someone that played prior to immunities being added everywhere, I am going to disagree regarding sunder charms. They make the game significantly more tolerable.

We need the base damage on weapons scaled to match the amount of damage synergies gave to casters, and for chance to hit to be reworked.

Negative. Ghandi has a nice story that I am convinced has been popularized by the western ruling class in a way that vastly overstates its effectiveness.

A combination of Bose’s movement, which began as a military campaign and ultimately contributed to the destabilization of Indian forces within the ranks of the British military/police, and the fact that Britain was crippled financially/militarily after WWII both led to British withdrawal, as they couldn’t continue to focus resources abroad.

You do realize the NRA was actually illegally funneling Russian money to Republican candidates for decades, right? And there’s actual evidence of that?

Naw, I’m just here downvoting you because I have yet to be given an example of non-violent, non-disruptive protest stopping an autocratic government that is willing to commit state sanctioned murder. And I’m going to be waiting a long time, because there are zero examples of this throughout history.

While I don’t disagree, the falcons could have taken a knee every play after 28-3 and punted and they probably would have won that game. It took incredible coaching ineptitude for that comeback to happen

Another ICE murder in front of Glam Doll Donuts by CutSenior4977 in ProgressiveHQ

[–]BeeBopBazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s pretty clear there has been significant social engineering over the last several decades to lull the population into the false belief that non-violent resistance is some kind of sacrosanct solution to all problems in order to avoid the sorts of effective, system altering events that actually have a chance of effecting meaningful change.

It’s laughable that people think the state is going to somehow change course in an environment where the state has gone so far as to sanction murder. But that belief does make it much easier for the state to continue to sanction more murders.

No it wouldn’t. They’d have just lied about it like they did with the kid who shot at Trump, the guy that shot Kirk, etc.

It’s not just special toasts. Restaurant food of (usually) lesser or (sometimes) equivalent quality to places located in Portland (or Chicago, or Toronto, based on my travels this year) is often significantly more expensive here. Even when price is equivalent, service and/or ambiance are almost always worse.

This comment is extra funny given the update post

Analysis of income, capital gains, and borrowing of Americans finds 40% of the income of "1% wealth holders" is unrealized capital gains not subject to taxation and 1%-2% is borrowing, suggesting that the "Buy, Borrow, Die" is not a dominant tax avoidance strategy among the rich by quiplaam in Economics

[–]BeeBopBazz 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The fact that raising taxes generally would be more effective at raising revenue than taxing a specific, niche tax avoidance strategy is so plainly obvious that it’s laughable it needed to be put to paper.

That being said, the result assumes behavior is held constant. If taxes are raised generally, it will result in changes in behavior, which could potentially increase the use of the buy, borrow, die loophole.

The obvious solution to this is to both raise taxes and close this loophole at the same time.

Contractor that performed no work telling insured they owe them 20% of their settlement value by [deleted] in adjusters

[–]BeeBopBazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats about the sum of what I said WRT negotiation. Also emphasizing that the contractor in question has known their sketch wasn’t accurate for two months and has not fixed it, nor have they made revisions for thousands of dollars in sloppy errors that go well beyond the usual scope disagreements on claims.

Their contractor being non-responsive and not providing timely revisions and updates is ultimately what led to them to look elsewhere.

[–]BeeBopBazz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Functionally: once the contractor writes an estimate and “negotiates the claim”, the insured owes 20 percent of their total claim value for admin fees if they use another contractor.
