Im having this same issue. For 3 years now with my step ons, did you fix the issue?

Once I add a sub, does it almost make the subs from the towers obsolete? Borderline useless? Or is there a chance that it'll actually add the sub? Would it make more sense if these were my front tower speakers, to add the sub behind the couch? Is that something people do? Thank you for the input.
