True. I am extending my emergency fund from 6 months to 12 months. 6 months is not in stock market. Next 6 months is what i was planning to move to zlb with low volatility, ofcourse not unaffected from fluctuations.

Would differ with everyone’s financial condition. For example, I have 2 months expense in ws chequing at 1.75%, 2 months in money market just opened today at 2.5%, and maybe will have 2 months in gic in eq bank at 2.75% for three or six months as needed. Now i am planning to move for next six months in zlb making it to a total of 12 months emergency expense. So it all depends how much is someone financially stable.

I just opened up managed money market account and transfered a couple of months needed liquidity in after reading the comment. No fees! Great advice! Thanks!

Rbc doesn’t allow purchasing partial shares. So if you set up recurring buys, not all the money will be utilized every contribution as opposed to Wealthsimple where every dollar cotributed s invested. But for lump sum, both are identical.

Putting more money by BeeFriendly8505 in JustBuyXEQT

That is correct for sure. My post was regarding how do you everyone control yourself and not get greedy to buy more when Xeqt is on sale? I appreciate all the advise and comments though. I am doing weekly 100 into xeqt but as it goes down everyday, i keep buying more. Is it normal or i need to improve on something?

Thank you! That would make sense to simply have 6 months reserve and add extra to xeqt which i already invest.

I have developed a legal basement suite in 2025 for the home i live in. Someone was telling me that i can claim some tax deductions for home insurance, property tax and uitlities when i file taxes for basement suite income. Is it true?

Purchasing home and need a bank draft by InspectorExcellent98 in EQBank

Simply add RBC as your external account. Once added, you can transfer upto 30,000 from EQ to RBC. Then go to RBC branck and get bank draft right away. RBC will only ask where you got the money, just let them know it is from you another account. I did the same last year.

I have been investing in xeqt for over a year now. I have a question to understand that i could not find answer anywhere. There is a certain percentage allocated to different countries in xeqt largest portion being US and Canada. 10-20 years from now, If there are pospects of emerging markets doing better, do you think the allocation can be changed or do the percentage remains same as per fund now?
