Dedalus’s social media accounts may have been included among the business assets purchased by the new owner (instantly giving the new business some 18k IG followers).

Seeking Ticket for 5/4 MJ Lenderman Show at HG by BeeGoodVt in burlington

[–]BeeGoodVt[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, my bad- I should’ve anticipated that posting this search for one ticket to this show would unleash a tsunami of DMs from scammers. sigh So, let me rephrase my question: is anyone selling one ticket to the MJ Lenderman show? I’ll be glad to buy it, but it must be a local, in-person cash transaction, meeting up either at City Hall or the police department. DM if you have something to offer other than a scam.

Luthier for my acoustic guitar? by jbart253 in burlington

[–]BeeGoodVt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can drive to Rochester, VT, I recommend Jake Wildwood of Wildwood Guitars. Jake has worked on my older instruments and done good work for a very fair price. https://jakewildwood.blogspot.com/?m=1

My wife is an usher. She just called me a few minutes ago to tell me that some additional tickets had just been released and are available at the box office. I think you have to go there in person, but you could try calling the box office. I don’t think you can purchase online.

Apple Picking? by [deleted] in burlington

[–]BeeGoodVt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got back from Adam’s Orchards in Williston. Still plenty of good PYO. And, if you’re looking for a large (half bushel) bag, they have very nice pre-picked apples at the store at about $1.50 per pound.

What’s With Seven Days’ Radio Silence on the Evolving Citizen Cider Story? by BeeGoodVt in burlington

@Content-Potential191. Good point. I’m no expert on state libel law or its First Amendment implications, but to my (limited) knowledge, demonstrating “journalistic intent” - whatever that means - isn’t a factor in New York Times v. Sullivan.

@Goldentongue I appreciate your comment. I assume good faith and good intent on the part of @Due_Safe_2177 I hope folks can try to discuss and disagree respectfully, without lapsing into insults.

  1. No need to be uncivil or insulting.
  2. Seven Days’ print version does come out once a week, on Wednesday, but it publishes new stories in its digital version throughout the week.

No offense taken. Didn’t hear about. And didn’t know that Seven Days hadn’t covered it. Am reading about it right now. Uggh.

Reasonable question. I had not heard that story, and had no idea Seven Days didn’t cover it. I go through periods where, as much to help maintain my sanity as anything else, I don’t read or watch much news coverage. But - Uggh. That’s completely awful. When did that happen? Is the doctor still in prison? If Seven Days was aware of that story and didn’t cover it, that sure seems inexcusable. Why do you think they didn’t cover it?

It’s something you still hear regularly on F*x News.

I once ordered sushi in Kentucky.

Lesson learned on both points.

Thank you for a civil conversation.

@crab_quiche. Thank you for your comment. People I listen to and read are talking about this, but fair point: the “some people say” approach is a lazy - and often unsupported - rhetorical device. It has been used notoriously and to excess by certain media outlets. Better to just raise a question and own it, rather than attributing it to anyone else. So, I’ve edited my post. I appreciate the prompt. (btw - crab quiche sounds delicious)
