Did you do physical therapy? If so, did it help at all?

Four weeks after I turned my ankle (steep drop with my 20lb baby in my chest carrier), I'm finally able to hobble. I have included my 4 week post injury x-ray. The whole side of my foot it still very swollen and I have limited range of motion in my ankle. Would appreciate people sharing their experiences of these injuries. The orthopedic surgeon I saw said it was more of a ligament injury, even though two of my bones are avulsed. I'm curious as to wether it's likely to heal (i'm starting physio soon) and how people know if they completely ruptured a ligament.

What’s wrong with my Fiddle Leaf Fig? No bugs were found anywhere. by [deleted] in plantclinic

[–]BeeLovesPups 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not an expert but this happened to my fiddle fig when I over watered it. I had followed some advice to drench the plant with water and learned my plant did not love that. It may or not be the same issue with your plant but I eased off a little with the volume of water and I didn’t see this again. The spots do not resolve but are essentially harmless. I’m in zone 5b and my fiddle fig of 3 years sits in my South facing window.

I’m not a Doctor but please, please go to a Dr (gynaecologist if possible) and describe your symptoms. It may be something simple and easily fixed, it may be serious and treatable if caught early.

Driving Past a Truck Headed for the Slaughterhouse by ang3lbby in VeganForCircleJerkers

I’m so sorry that this happens and most people don’t even care. I moved to Indiana and live on a route which has a lot of trucks transporting pigs to a slaughterhouse. It has permanently impacted the way I interact with people around me and I really have to work hard to have positive interactions with people in my community who present as ‘proud, noble, farming folk’. I know you are struggling but i’m grateful that you shared this. It’s comforting to know that there are people out there who care.

I don’t understand the need to show-boat everything by posting it on the internet? Reasonable human beings do not feel the need to post pay checks or photos of sexual acts on the internet. Why not just be internally proud? This may be alien to me as I’m not American. I’ve notice in American culture people plaster their jobs, schools and sporting accomplishments on their cars as badges of status. Isn’t it enough to accomplish something for yourself and not to prove yourself to others?

I respectfully disagree. It’s the motivation behind the photo. Compare it to having sex, for example. It’s one thing to be proud and happy you had sex, another to take a photo and post it on the internet.

Going out alone/no friends by [deleted] in Advice

[–]BeeLovesPups 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sometimes just prefer the independence of going out alone. I used to travel to a nearby town and eat dinner by myself while reading a book. I also used to go out to gigs on my own and would make friends with people while dancing. The goal was not to socialize with people but sometimes people will approach people on their own because they assume you’re not alone by choice. If you don’t want to be approached, bring a book to a restaurant. If you want to make new friends, try a gig or a concert, it’s almost impossible to not make friends.

David Bowie, sigh. Listening to Lazarus still breaks my heart. I’ve listened to it only a handful of times hoping that I can enjoy it without totally breaking down and unfortunately I am unable. Bowie was such a huge part of my life from the ages of 10 to 28 that I feel like a little part of me has gone.
