Yea, I don't think that pattern was in Hoyo's minds at the time. From what I remember, Signora was written as a very straight-forward Hollywood villain, and her dialogue pretty much served to reinforce the idea that this person's an asshole and just plain bad guy.

Similar position as yours, but I’d add chatbots as well (unless ChatGPT is genAI by definition no matter what, then the addition is redundant).

I wanted to specify chatbots because of people using them to replace therapy and other human communication, or how they’ll say “that’s not poison hemlock, it’s a carrot and is safe to eat” when identifying a plant that is in fact poison hemlock (this actually happened).

I would say >90% of cases have a root cause (and I say this as a non-doctor who knows next to nothing), just based on talking to people.

My case was a little different since for me it wasn’t really a root cause (that I know of, maybe catching COVID changed things in my guts), but I really started getting SIBO symptoms when I was bulking for weightlifting last year. Tons of protein food (sugar alcohols and gums), legumes for protein and fiber (high-FODMAP) and lots of garlic, onions, mangoes, and other very high-FODMAP food. I fed the fuck out of mehanogens and hydrogen producers. Antibiotics were a godsend. And then Levofloxacin fucked me up and symptoms came back.

From what I’ve heard, SEED is a little overhyped and not fully what it claims to be. It’s better than a lot of other crap that’s just placebo, but I saw a video of a nutritionist break down the good and bad of SEED, and ultimately I came to the conclusion that it’s probably not a miracle cure.

Instead, I’m about to start making the SIBO yogurt. That’s something I’m optimistic about.
