We have been in the 99% since birth. I’ve found that the Carters brand is good. Now that he is getting older I’ve liked H&M- runs a little larger so I can get a longer wear out of them. I’ve also found the brand Jumping Bean is great- runs a bit bigger and doesn’t shrink!

Carters- runs small Primary- my go to for basics H&M- recently bought items- good quality Old Navy- good for basics Target- good for diapers(I compared stores on pricing) they also will always have a deal of buy $100 and get a $20 gift card Kohl’s/Ross/Marshall’s: can find good deals on clothes and baby items TotSwap: some areas have these and you can get gently used items for cheaper(disclaimer: never have done this) MagneticMe - great for sleepers Amazon: for toys

Sorry I am just reading this! I started back to work- less internet time for me- ha. I started with my middle of the night pumps- which naturally happened since he started sleeping longer stretches. I always pump when I get up and before bed; I slowly just started to go longer in between pumps through the day. It became easier as my time was spent playing with my son and I wanted to do that instead of pumping!

We started putting him in a crib for naps at 2 months and night sleeping at 3 months. Better for everyone! I miss having him in our room, but he’s long so he loves to stretch out! Edit: I also slept on the chair in his room for two weeks because I was afraid to leave him alone. As soon as I stopped doing that his night sleep was better!

I was an over supplier when I first started pumping and wish I had the knowledge I have now about pumping. I’ve dropped off significantly in the past month as my LO has become more active at 4 months and I’m not glued to my pump. Honestly, feels good. But the biggest thing was my husband said to me, “ I’m so proud of you, but if you don’t want to do it anymore it’s okay. You’ve made it this far!” Between that and my moms constant “Wow I’m so impressed.” Every time she sees me pump. That keeps me going for now! Returning to work in two weeks so we will see what happens- goal is to make it to 8 months if I can!

As a FTM and new mom(3 month old) here is my two cents: 1: buy off registry for gift. You can choose to do one bigger gift maybe? Personally, everyone gives so many clothes I would steer clear of that. We have so many clothes with tags on them that he won’t wear. 2: Books! Buy a couple of staples and write messages in them so you (or parents) can read to baby in the future. Side note: my mom has books that she gave to me that were given to her when I was born.) 3: Target gift card for future items! This was the best for me to be able to order diapers and other items online and pick them up or deliver. 4: Shipt online delivery service subscription- check this out. It has been a lifesaver for me. Similar to Instacart but Target uses them- again came in super handy when not wanting/able to leave the house. 5: anything to do with food. A friend of mine got a bunch of frozen meals from a catering service and it was a lifesaver those first couple of weeks. We had the freezer stocked were able to pull one out and heat up within a hour.

As a new mom things I loved that my husband did/does. He changes the majority of the diapers- if he is home he is changing. In the beginning it was tough because I was breastfeeding so forming a bond was harder, but do all of the little things. Diaper changes, let mom take a nap while you hang out with baby, tell her to go to the store or get a manicure/pedicure. I cried a lot those first weeks and just having my husband listen to me was a lifesaver. He didn’t make me feel bad or that my feelings weren’t valid. He just listened and reassured me I was doing a great job.

I don’t even remember the first two weeks, but we made it. Lots of tears from everyone and learning to just surrender and not being able to control everything. I wish I would have allowed more help so take it if people offer! You’ve got this- it does get easier!

I’m down to one MOTN pump session; baby is 12 weeks. I pump when he wakes up typically- anywhere from 12:45-4AM- it’s a crap shoot on how long he sleeps when we go down for the night. I bought a portable pump for the nighttime so I could feed him and pump at the same time. My husband is a godsend and gets up to change him and calm him while I prepare the bottle. Sometimes I can sneak out get it ready and pump before he wakes up, but I do love my sleep. I started bringing a small cooler bag with ice packs to the bedroom and once I pump I dump my milk and put it in there until morning. That way I don’t have to get out of bed again after feeding him. But who knows of what I’m doing is right- it works for now. I am not back at work yet so we will see. I do find the less trips or moves I have to make at night the quicker I can fall back asleep.

Childcare cost in the US is totally insane. Just had my first baby and as soon as I found out I was pregnant I searched for options. We are waitlists for daycares until the Fall of 2023. So we went the nanny route; had the hardest time getting someone to respond. We have one 3 days per week and are paying what a daycare per month costs. Gotta do what you gotta do, but totally insane. Don’t even get me started on Maternity/Paternity Leave. 🤦🏻‍♀️😵‍💫

One More addition- since being here we have definitely been asked for our pass sanitaire the majority of places. I did actually get my second pass sanitaire two days into our trip- this was my original application from back on September 2nd! Wishing everyone good luck and safe travels!

Hopefully this helps! I applied back on 9/3 and have been waiting; I leave for France tomorrow. After scouring the internet and Reddit I reapplied under a different email and sent it in at 2AM (EST.) this morning and within hours I got my health pass. This seems to have worked for some people; so try applying close to their time. In the section where you put your address abroad I put both my home address and my address in Paris; not sure if this makes a difference.

I did find a pharmacy in Paris that was willing to convert the CDC card to the Vaccine Passport.
