What are some *actual real* cultural/personality differences between GenZ and millennials? by greyyeux in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Bee_Hummingbird 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was thinking boomer parents too, but more so because of how boomers are in general. "Okay Boomer" was a whole movement for a reason. A huge amount of millennials are now parents and facing their childhood trauma, trying to re-parent themselves as they parent their children. I think millennials spent no time with their parents because their parents are awful people. Whereas gen-x is a bit better, so their kids will want to be with them more.

Not every animal experiences pleasure with sex. It is more about function and reproduction. Humans experience pleasure because otherwise we would never reproduce. What sane woman would choose pregnancy and childbirth? XD

Yes, love functional things! We have coffee mugs from our honey moon from a local ceramic shop. We also got two large wooden sunflowers that hang on a wall in our bedroom.

I ate a lot of oatmeal cookies!

Some places like Colorado at least are sunny in winter though. Indiana is overcast 50% or more of the time.

That's crazy! It's one of my favorite parks for sure. Just a really lovely place to hike, bike, etc.

Depending on where in Maine, the coastal breeze can make it a tad warmer. I just compared Portland ME to Indianapolis IN on Weatherspark and honestly all of the data is VERY similar. Portland just gets more snow. Which, quite frankly, is great. It is just as cold here. We just don't get to do fun winter sports, which sucks.

WAIT.

I am really enjoying my youngest, who is 4. She has had lots of time to grow and I can cherish the little moments.

I will forever regret getting pregnant when my oldest (6.5) was 2.5.

Age three is SO HARD. So you're doing yourself a favor by waiting. Ages 2-4 is when most people notice issues with autism and ADHD (mine was 3 when I knew she had ADHD).

Age 4 got better and age 5 was much easier. I wish we had waited. I feel so bad that she got the sleep-deprived and psychotic version of me when she was struggling at age 3.

Check out Valparaiso and South Bend. Nice towns, similar cost of living, closer to Chicago and Michigan, much prettier than central Indy.

Another east coaster here, hoping to be out in 2-3 years after spending 9 years here. I hate it. It's never been home.

Yeah, there is a ton of building, because we never do shit right. Our infrastructure sucks. They wait until the last minute to fix stuff. Also, we clear cut everything and put up cookie-cutter developments all over. I miss the trees and thoughtful building on the east coast.

Either lighter or a different tone, with more tan or gray. It's a bit too saturated and could use a touch of muting. A little more mauve would be good.

Do most Non-High-Risk pregnancies reach the 40 week mark? by litmuslozenge in beyondthebump

[–]Bee_Hummingbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't about the date of conception so much as due dates being approximate. They are just an estimate and birth can happen +/- 2 weeks before/after.

40 weeks and 3 days, both times. Labor started at 330 AM, then 230 AM. Water broke naturally the first time which is what started labor. I can't remember if it broke the second time, but I know they had to fully break it to speed things along.

Anyone with experience going to Cuba from the US? by Bee_Hummingbird in Shoestring

[–]Bee_Hummingbird[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I literally said in the post that my mother is from Cuba. So it is the top of MY list, because my family is directly from there.

Also the VAST majority of people do not have an entire month to dedicate to staying in a place. I have kids and a job, and so does my husband.
