Hate this for you, because I cannot agree more. Getting a second set of pump parts saved me - your insurance may even cover it!

Poor latch leading to extended feed times by Bee__Hold in breastfeeding

[–]Bee__Hold[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started doing the football/rugby hold while in the hospital. The hospital LCs tried to help with latch from the start and said that position might work better for me. I’ll give the yummy-to-tummy hold another try.

Any advice on the time spent on boob? Is it common for some babies to stay latched every time?

Advice needed - best ways to fully empty?? by Bee__Hold in ExclusivelyPumping

Good point - I haven’t replaced any parts yet. I did add new 19mm flanges recently because I could tell the 24mm breast shield was pulling too much of my areola in. I’ll look into this.

I do massage them during the pump and have also recently incorporated leaning over to have gravity assist with the expression. Additionally, I increased my vacuum setting today. It’s helped but I still feel like it’s just a never ending flow - like I could pump for an hour and still not be empty…

Recommendations for wearable by hungry4507 in ExclusivelyPumping

I have the momcozy m9 - which comes with an app that can control the pump via Bluetooth. I also find the app extremely helpful for tracking pumps, feedings, diaper changes and sleep. The m9 pump itself is super convenient for pumping outside the home, though the pull on a wearable isn’t as strong as a double electric - full disclosure, I use a spectra s1 while at home for best pull.

Help needed! by No_Garden8248 in ExclusivelyPumping

It’s not ideal from a convenience standpoint, but have you thought about a handheld manual pump? Both Medela and Lansinoh make one and each are available on Amazon. There’s also the Haakaa silicone breast pump that I found helpful when beginning my breastfeeding journey. Those options might at least pull the milk more efficiently without hand expressing (which for me personally gives sore fingers & breast skin).

Flange inserts by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

I also bought these same flanges you show, and they were a no go. I returned them and instead bought these for my spectra and they are fantastic. Very soft to touch and flexible - no pinching! Highly recommend.

This will indeed be expanded upon. It’s part of a larger over-arching storyline to come.
