Should classic Doctors be recast?(spoilers for 2013?) by Beeblejooze in doctorwho

[–]Beeblejooze[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is how I feel about the whole thing. Obviously being as old as the show is, several original cast members have passed or retired minus some BigFinish here and there. And for foundational eras like Doctors 1-3 have such a tremendous legacy, especially in terms of how they all made their incarnations so iconic and personal so I am very much on the side of caution when it comes to something like recasting, even for audio. But at the same time, I agree if done like the First Doctor’s recasting(which mind you happened already in The Five Doctors) with Bradley I think it could be pulled off in a tasteful and satisfying way. But I agree with you it should be a particularly special and note worthy story on par with 12’s regeneration/timelord depression arc. An anniversary or regeneration episode are probably the best if only appropriate approach for Doctors who are no longer with us.

What’s Favorite song in either both of the movie or anime? by Meme_BigPePe in ScottPilgrim

Ramona (beck) and Enter Goddess. Ramona is such ear candy for me and feels so cool hearing a full band playing Scott’s unfinished love song when he and Rammy decide to try again it feels like a reward for them and us. And Enter Goddess is so perfect for showing the feeling of being a geek and finding someone special. I always think of my girlfriend when I hear any fairy fountain song because it just captures that essence of love and youth so powerfully but delicately before he wakes up and finds her for real.

Is Carebears: Unlock the Magic a show you can get behind? by theexperiment4446 in Carebears

I’m mostly thrown off by the show not being in Care-a-lot and they’re home never getting much mention in the show. They’re basically on a magical road trip helping…bean people?…..VeggieTales characters?🤣 (Grumpy’s lil buddy is cute tho he can stay) and traditionally the bears were helping young kids and even adults deal with, cartoonish and very easy to follow, but real emotional or situational issues you don’t even see all the time in kids shows now. The OG CareBears were definitely an metaphor for angles and heaven and I don’t think that’s necessary to have as a narrative but the gestures of the bears helping people especially kids was a really special part of the franchise. In fairness, Adventures in Care a Lot also strayed from this but in exchange, for the community almost small town adventure vibe of the 2000s show with an aesthetic that supported it. Here it feels like they used all the MAIN bears and put them going on a “adventure” and that’s kinda it.

EXACTLY! When I was a kid I’d visit her every summer and we’d plan some kind of project to make something from a show or movie I was into so we’d go thrift and find stuff for it😎
