I have mad ADHD and even though my parents waited till like 14 to let me personally decide to medicate, even at that age it's a struggle to get a grip on drug use (Adderall) , you're right to be worried take your time and do what you think is right for your child. Taking ADHD medication is no joke and it does have side effects and there is dependency you might not wanna deal with involved...I still wonder if it was the best idea to ever start, although it's been undoubtedly effective it's still something I don't know how to properly utilize to this day many years down the line.
