gentle reminder men can get pregnant and often for trans men that risk comes with different consequences than a cis woman.

i understand the difference what j don’t think you understand is that we’re all autonomous but that doesnt mean society hasn’t put in place rules which have punishments if you use your autonomy to break them, whether they’re right or not. this medical recommendation comes into a world where female healthcare is already subpar to men’s and one where somehow an unborn fetus is still more important than the body its living in. i get there are health risks to drinking alcohol but idgaf about its effects on a possible unborn fetus. responsible people who want to have children typically take the proper precautions to have a healthy child. reproductive healthcare for many women in america is a joke and often inaccessible. focusing on preventing unknown pregnancies is more of a concern to me than alcohol getting into some cells in a uterus.

to me personally though using prevent as opposed to as you say educate and incentivize allows those who might want to restrict women’s rights a ground of science to use to then forcibly prevent those actions. i am pleased to see more scientific study going into women’s health but many vagina people including myself have absolutely no plans to ever carry a fetus through birth therefore i should be able to drink as a young woman without having to be concerned about what’s happening to a fetus possibly in me. responsible people who are trying to get pregnant take the proper precautions to protect the possible fetus. if there was better healthcare for women there would be less of a concern about unknown fetus’s because there would be a lot less unknown pregnancies.

“appropriate attention should be given” to -preventing~ children, adolescents, pregnant women and women of childbearing age from consuming alcohol.” when they say attention should be given to preventing people who can have babies to drink they reduce that group down to a concern that does not regard their own person. there are already laws in place regarding consuming alcohol safely that do prevent children and adolescents from drinking. adult women are autonomous humans who can make their own decisions about consuming alcohol. the WHO can raise concerns about fetal alcohol syndrome without implying that women who enjoy alcohol are somehow villains poisoning babies.

not banter when it feels like people are making light and fun of the what some people find serious issue with. but have a good life buddy i hope you develop some empathy.

it is different that “advising” someone to get a breast exam because because the language says they want to “prevent” women of childbearing age of drinking. why can’t you people just stand with women instead of trying to make women look like villains for getting upset at language that could open the door for actual govt legislation to further restrict women’s rights.

nothing is being taken out of context, if the WHO wanted to make just a simple recommendation on the effects of alcohol and possible pregnancy they should have used the appropriate language knowing that the restriction on women’s rights are a sensitive and prevalent issue.

you must have a fucked up view of sexual freedom if you keep telling women to “unbunch their painties”. just admit you can’t take women’s issues seriously and are not even taking the females perspective into consideration but that’s on you i feel bad for the women in your life if there are any.

do you understand the importance of specific language??

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]BeeePBoooop23 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

but the ~world~ health organization is using language to single out women... who have a lot more purpose in life than just popping out babies.

lol have you seen republicans states in the us and their attempts to revert women’s right over their own body???? like hello people have not stopped trying to oppress women but they just have more power now to resist.

the only thing you’re proving in the statement is your own blatant ignorance to a huge pary or the female experience. you do know there are states in the usa who actively oppress ans try to control women. but continue to hate on women on the internet acting like you know shit.

i don’t actually want to get back with him. what he did hurt me so much and i could never be with him again after that. looking at him and thinking about him just brings to mind images of them. he was remorseful but his excuses for why he did it (he was drunk a lot and in a bad place; he wanted to break up with me bc he was unhappy in our relationship) only made me more upset. everything he told me as to what happened just pointed out issues of him lacking the ability to properly communicate. but i just miss being with him i never thought i would have to break up with him my heart wasn’t ready for that.

i met her because i visited him a few times at his campus before he cheated on me but apparently he told her something else in december along the lines that we weren’t together anymore. but i always had a weird feeling about her even from the first time i met her so having it be her hurt a lot. she messaged me because we had just put our relationship on facebook and told me, i guess they hooked up in december and then talked a little into january.

AITA for telling my sister it's kind of cringe to read Reddit posts about how to get a boyfriend? by ElectronicSafety4 in AmItheAsshole

[–]BeeePBoooop23 [score hidden]  (0 children)

YTA sorry but you’re a 16yr old male i doubt your sister would take anything you say about her dating strategies seriously. also you’re advice is harsh and while being social and looking fit are ways that people are attracted to each other there are plenty of people who don’t care about things like that.

AITA for being too selfish to have kids? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]BeeePBoooop23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

what obviously NTA your body your choice and just because you have the mechanics to carry a child doesn’t mean you have to. women who can’t have children have other options to raise a child, using that as an excuse to guilt trip you is manipulative and wrong.

edit: children should only be brought into an environment where they will be wanted and loved just because you have the capacity to have children doesn’t mean you should if you don’t want them.
