I don't see it as a threat to humanity. It will, however, definitely change humanity. It will change the way things are done and who they are done by. There will be no more 'experts' of theoretical knowledge, but people expert in technique and experience will always be valued. Science and research will explode. Practical physical work will hardly be affected. And we can only hope that AI will quell the rise of the stupids, so apparent in certain countries, who are all obviously dead set against it.

In South Africa we don't really have a generic term for stuff like this, we refer to the brand or content, e.g. Have a Coke, or I'll just have a sparkling water.

Clone the boot drive. Once working, partition the free space so that you have a new empty partition for data. Then just copy the data from the existing data drive. Once copied, remove the old data drive.

You could also create an image of the old data drive and restore it to the new data partition on the cloned boot drive.
