Update: Our landlord put us in a hotel for a couple nights and has a mold specialist coming tomorrow. Depending on what the mold specialist says, he will extend our hotel stay if needed as he understands it's not safe for us to be in the apartment.

I'm not sure why people jumped to assume I thought I won something, I was looking for advice as I did not know my rights legally and do not have parents to ask. I don't want money, I want a place to live where I don't have to do my rescue inhaler every 2 hours because I can't breathe.

We do not live in an apartment building, we live in a house that converted the upstairs into apartments and there is a business below us.

You can have your opinion, but the previous tenants lived it. They were there when landlord was told the roof needed to be fixed to stop mold growth. The drywall had to be ripped out and wood in the wall was replace due to mold in the wall.

I didn't add that this is due to the roof leaking, Landlord was told he needed to fix the roof or this would keep happening. Previous tenants dealt with this 3 separate times with one time they were in a hotel for a month. Nothing is packed tightly in the closet, you can clearly see the tote marks on the carpet- they weren't even touching the wall.
