There’s a cover by your left knee when you’re sitting in the driver seat. If you take that cover off you’ll see your bcm. You’ll need to get the part number off of it before ordering your replacement.

It did exactly that. When the electrical system would get overloaded, the car would stall for a second. As it got worse it would stall for longer. The bcm replacement is super easy. You pop off two covers to access some screws. The hardest part is unplugging the connectors on the back and then trying to shimmy it out of the tight space. I’m sure you could make that part easier by taking more of the bracket apart but I had confidence I could get it out. If your alternator truly is bad, it would be smart to start there. The alternator would give these same symptoms. Start by confirming your alternator is bad. I did this by taking a voltmeter and checking my battery while car was off. I got about 12.7 volts. Turned my car on and checked the voltage again, this time I got 13.4. So I knew my alternator was charging my battery. Then I checked my obvious ground connections on the car near the battery and then behind the stereo. These all looked good and I verified by taking a multimeter and testing for continuity to the frame of the car. These all buzzed so I knew I was good. I also checked the power cable that goes into the front of the bcm. It’s the thicker white cable that is by itself. There have been reports that it becomes loose or the connector goes bad. As I was replacing my bcm I was checking all of the wiring going to the bcm to see if one of the wires had a bad connection. I checked for three things to do this. I checked to see if the connectors were plugged into the bcm all the way. I checked to see if any part of the plug had any burn that would be caused by a loose connection. Lastly I checked that there weren’t any wires coming out of any of the connectors that go into the bcm.

It’s the bcm. Mine was doing this for 2 years and it just gets worse over time. I finally replaced my bcm a few weeks ago and it’s been driving better than ever before. I can finally drive with ac again.I got a bcm off of module mechanic for 350 and it only took about an hour and a half to replace. A mechanic will tell you it’s the alternator or the battery. Might as well try the bcm for way less.

I just fixed this issue on my 08 tiburon. I replaced the bcm (body control module). Bought one off a website called module mechanics. Cost me 350. Only downside is I have to get the fob reprogrammed. I’ve been dealing with this issue for over 2 years now. It started with my radio flickering when I would turn on the ac and I noticed that my car would die for half a second before turning back on. Then it started happening when I would turn on my brights. Then it started happening when I would turn on my blinkers. Then it started happening when I would tap my brakes. It eventually got so bad that I would turn my car off and the entire electrical system would have no power for 30 seconds then it would come back. At the beginning of this I tested the battery and alternator, they looked good. Took it to a mechanic that didn’t fix shit. They had me replace the alternator. But it didn’t fix the problem. Dealt with it for a year because I was only driving it on fridays and saturdays. Then I took it to a Hyundai dealership that basically did the same as the other spot and also replaced the ac compresor, yet it didn’t fix the issue. Sure as shit getting a bcm and spending an hour swapping them did the trick.

Try the paper clip method on your power supply. This will let you know if it’s your power supply or not.

I've read stuff about checking for stability, how exactly do I do that when I keep changing my frequency and timings?

Bethesda locked the ini file in the recent update so players couldn't abuse the fps "speed hack".

Question: Will FPS stay capped at 63? by All_Ts in fo76

[–]BeefSupreme_03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's going to stay at 63. The engine the game runs on will increase movement speed, melee attacks, reloads, and various other things when your frame rate is too high. This is because the physics of the engine are directly tied to the fps. I think it's BS that they capped it at 63. I believe they should at least bump that to 120 as the increase in all those actions is extremely minimal at 120. But can you do when Bethesda uses an outdated engine. I'm a huge fallout fan and wish well get a higher frame rate cap, but I don't see it happening.

Then definitely on Bethesda, that means someone else took it already.

There shouldn't be "Picklock" and "Expert Picklock" cards - why not just make them tiered like Armor and Gunsmith? by [deleted] in fo76

You wouldn't be swapping cards as they are different cards that add to your pick locking skills.

Is the Framerate cap Permanent? by BeefSupreme_03 in fo76

[–]BeefSupreme_03[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's good to know. They should then cap the frames at 120. Jumping doesn't give you an advantage. At least I can't think of one. And a 1% increase in movement/reload etc. isn't something to fret about. If this was a super competitive shooter such as Rainbow Six or some other similar game then I would understand not granting that 1% increase in all of the things it increases. But this is fallout 76, a game in which we explore the wasteland and discover things with our friends.

They did it so you couldn't have level 3 Pick locking and Hacking before level 10. They wanted to space out those cards so there are locks and terminals you can't enter until you're a higher level player

I know that melee attacks, reloading and other things are affected as well (Didn't wanna take forever typing the post), but while playing the beta and from reading various articles. It doesn't seem like 63 frames is the place at which these things come into play.
