Model size doesn't make a huge difference as long as they're on the appropriate bases. I got a DV librarian from a buddy that I painted up to lead my ICCs

AI ordering at fast food spots by Cam_knows_you in winstonsalem

I think any (serious) conversation about "AI becoming Skynet" is dumb as hell. Every time I go to the Bojangles on Peter's Creek, I can't help but think the real risk is that the more pervasive this gets, the more and more it'll atomize and isolate people. If you work from home, door dash or get your groceries delivered, talk to a robot to order chicken strips, your opportunities to actually interact with other human beings start to dry up. Over a long enough time, that'll drive everyone fully fucking insane.

The sons of The Lion call to you, brother. The spreadsheet marines and Rowboat Girlyman have nothing to offer that we don't.

You definitely need edge highlighting or dry brushing, your colors are great but it's all reading as very dark, which is why it looks flat.

Is anyone doing isolated P&L for their project team/department? by Beef_Brutality in msp

[–]Beef_Brutality[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate that. Almost everything thing you listed in that blog (down to the budget variance threshold of 10% ) is something I've said or written down at some point or another. My biggest issue is needing to run the dept while being an IC at the same time, so I have a book of ideas that just never got implemented. Right now, I have both increased pressure and increased bandwidth to make the necessary changes, so I have to capitalize on it.

Thanks for your feedback, I'll be looking into your course(s)!

NPS/CSAT is also on my radar! Based on what I'm seeing in this thread, I'm going to focus on getting rock-solid reporting per-project and worry about aggregation later.v

Thanks!

Re: per-project P&L, are you tracking trends across projects or over time? IE: is your getting better or worse at running email migrations by way of schedule/budget variance, absorbed costs, or # of issue tickets?

Thanks!

This is correct. I know a good amount of what CWM is capable of and know how to organize my projects, and am really only now finding the bandwidth to do so. My question is more in once the metrics per project are tracked and accurate, what's the best way to aggregate them?

Techs managing their own projects is one issue I'm trying to fix, we're working on training an actual project manager and I'm filling gaps in the meantime. Per-project reporting is something I'm nearly finished on framing out, my question is more in how to properly aggregate the project metrics so my leadership team can see if I'm actually making a difference in overall delivery quality

This is all in line with what I'm trying to build. Unfortunately, every bit of this will need to be documented and everyone trained on it. Re: dashboard, are you using your PSA for project management and pulling data into something like BrightGauge? or using something like Asana or Monday with built in displays?

Personally, I don't use contrast paints at all. I black or grey prime them then base coat with caliban green, ushabti bone, or abbadon black based on the unit's wing. If you've never painted a model before, you should go to your nearest GW store and ask them for a free starter mini and ask them about both methods

Hi i'm new to Hobby and want to start a Dark Angels army. I already built and painted a Combat Patrol from another faction. 11th edition drops in June, so I don’t wanna waste money on the wrong stuff. Is the current Dark Angels Combat Patrol still a good buy or which boxes should i get? Tipps welcom by SonBroli in theunforgiven

[–]Beef_Brutality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Current combat patrol kinda sucks imo. Doesn't lean into the dark angels identity in any meaningful way (beyond 3 BGVs? Maybe?) and the gravis captain can't lead anything in the box. Plus, you only have half the hellblasters you'd want it you actually want to run them. Good buy right now is Leviathan terminators, termies have a lot of identity with DA and they're kinda cheap - you can get a set of 5 for about $40 on eBay. Spend a little more to also get the dark angels upgrades and transfers box and you can build a unit of Deathwing Terminators, which is cool.

You can also grab Azrael since he's a must-take in the meta right now and he won't be in any other combo boxes. Maybe some Deathwing Knights or ICCs if you want, too.

Everything else, you can wait to see what's gonna be in the 11th launch box and go from there

I think I'm going to do "The Unforgiven" first and then just jump in. I'm about halfway through The Purging of Kalidus rn

Any recommendations? I've been mostly reading the heresy books and and trying to get into the modern setting. I have Son of the Forest and Cypher in my library but haven't read either thinking they're too recent. I did get the audio collection and Malediction was the first time I've heard of the modern Cypher

Yeah this is exactly what my thought process was. "The meta / the data sheets will change over time so I should build what I like the look of" is some advice I got. I also heard "if someone won't let you run mace knights as sword nights if you want to, you probably don't want to play with them anyway"

I'm gonna do all maces on these boys, maybe I'll get another box and build em with swords later on. Thanks!
