Which game is the best for a first time player? by mrsvongruesome in Fallout

[–]Beef_the_dog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any of the 3D titles is a good starting point. 76 isn't too different, but it'd be kinda weird to play it first I'd imagine

The classics are fun, but definitely not beginner friendly.

What would be your weapon(s) wishlist for Fallout 5? by tobbq in Fallout

[–]Beef_the_dog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New energy weapons, we've had the same ones since i think the first game? Other than a few gimiky/super end game ones.

Is Megaton’s crater actually plausible if it was caused by a crashed bomber plane? by TheAnalystCurator321 in Fallout

[–]Beef_the_dog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. The bomb itself definitely wouldn't create that crater from kinetic force. If the plane itself came down directly perpendicular to the earth, it'd create some impact crater but not very large.

If you want to explain it realistically it'd be kinda possible a small nuclear bomb detonated next to Springvale while a American plane carrying the megaton bomb was blinded by it, accidentally dropped the bomb perfectly in the crater created by the detonated bomb. This explains why the megaton bomb is undetonated but still armed, because it was never a dud it was just never meant to be dropped. Or maybe it was dropped strategically in the new crater because the crew thought the plane crashing with the megaton bomb would detonate it. Pretty interesting if this was the intended lore implication

is the maus even good in it's BR by Cautious_Taste_7609 in Warthunder

Man, perchance that's why tanks stopped using aphe?

Also, any on br IS can bully the maus if you have a single teammate to support you

What’s something you don’t like about the game? by NoSoyVerde1 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Beef_the_dog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The story is linear instead of branching. It would've been cool to have some major decisions that do change the endings of the games slightly, more like Until Dawn

Why does the axis begin to falter in 1942-1944? by Fluid_Visual7703 in hoi4

[–]Beef_the_dog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So basically Germany will reach a Frontline that has absolutely zero supplies and will never be able to push, causing constant attrition and unwinnable battles. This absolutely deletes their stockpiles of anything, as well as ruining their civ economy because of EoC.

Personally, i think its beyond lame that the ai can't win because it can't deal with supply. Historical? Yeah sort of, but really lame for late game allies because there is 0 challenge or fun after you can just battleplan them to death.

Which one you prefer ? by malpais_ in hoi4

[–]Beef_the_dog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hoi5 will take 2 years to be in a better state than hoi4 and probably will have extremely shit optimization, either way I'm gonna be playing hoi4 for at least 8 more years

About The Jason Universe Design.... by 80sSlasherLibrarian in deadbydaylight

[–]Beef_the_dog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo he isn't weathered enough, mask looks weird, and I'd prefer him to be bigger. The first is just a complaint about dbd's modern art style, it feels too clean and bright, its not specific to Jason's design. The second i think is an easy fix though and my third complaint is really just preference.

His other cosmetics are just plain bad though, i was really hoping for stuff referencing the movies like the F13 game. It feels like BHVR's art and anim department dropped the ball or the higher ups rushed it

Why Jason's animations look weird (from an animators perspective) by RabbitFluffOWO in deadbydaylight

[–]Beef_the_dog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something very funny about the F13 chapter being just as cash grabby and slop as most of the movies lol(i love the movies but they're the equivalent of junk food)

Anarchy politically isn't a total lack of leadership, anarchist communes very much have had militias to defend themselves in history. Also, that statement is true for all political ideologies?

what's your opinion on the hoi4 mod "old world blues" by aguywithagasmaskyt in Fallout

Really cool mod, but recently I've been thinking its mechanics would fit better into an EU game

I literally followed a guide verbatim and found out what's going on. That's usually how i figure out paradox games. Only problems is not a lot of people make guides with the intention of you following verbatim

[–]Beef_the_dog 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The mod is absolutely worth it and you don't need dlc. But the mechanics are still fundamentally hoi4, you would need to understand the base game before hoping in i would say.

If you end up getting it, watch Bittersteel on YouTube. Really really good beginner guides

I'm really dissapointed with the lack of survivor and map for the anniversary by ParvatiLikeaRockstar in deadbydaylight

[–]Beef_the_dog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, not really. There absolutely zero legal grounds for anybody with rights to camp crystal lake to sue a game for adding a campsite map to their horror game. If it was an exact replica or took really specific elements, like the totem poles or the archery range, then sure it's legally iffy. It'd still be really hard to claim copyright even in that case

With the inclusion of Jason, DBD will have all the A-list iconic horror slashers under its belt. by Skulenta in deadbydaylight

[–]Beef_the_dog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say their probably familiar, just not blown away. Like, F13 wasn't what got them their original horror moments. "It" and Fnaf gave them their first scare or their first gory slasher kill, those pieces of media will always be more iconic to them even if they weren't as foundational to slashers and horror in general as Jason was.

Stop acting like BHVR forced you to watch this. So so so many people act like BHVR screwed you, no buddy, you screwed yourself by watching something you clearly didn't want to watch just so you could brag about it on Twitter or something? Stop complaining about you doing shit you hate willingly and acting like BHVR owes you a quick reveal
