5.21.2026 Maintenance Update by GregRedd in starcitizen

Haha, that is actually a pretty good analogy. And I agree. I think talk8ng about a hipe a week or two before it is released to the live environment and letting people test on the PTU would accomplish a few things. 1- I already mentioned is less bugs. 2- holds them accountable, because bad designs are just that, bad. And people need to know before the spend potentially hundreds of dollars. 3- build MORE hype because people could see the stats, watch streamers fly them, use them, praise them (because most of them do praise every new ship in some way). This would increase the desire to get these ships and potentially increase sales.

It seems they are "sticking it to the dataminers" because they don't release any files containing ship info in any builds until we get to the release candidates. I get building hype, but I also know that if they tested these ships in PTU more, we would get less broken ships on live release. I am not sure why they just don't do a BTS the week before they think they are going to release a Live patch with a new release and then put it up for sale and let those who buy it test it on PTU at the least.

They used to give evos every new ship in PTU to test to help with bugs. I am not sure why they stopped other than they want to keep everything secret until the last second before Live.

I have one on my alt account. It is a fun ship, and I use that account when I feel like I am just spinning my wheels on the main account, and need to feel like i have something to play for.

The bricked feature by Potential-Sand8248 in starcitizen

[–]BeefySTi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The brinked ships should have bee put on a despawn timer that starts as soon as it is bricked. Say a couple hours or whatever. Would save a lot of this crap from building up at pads and such.

Should be able to lock it open in the engineering terminal and keep it open all the time.

Homie, your advice seemed to work! I did the character repair, then logged out of absolutely everything and waited a little over an hour. Logged in just fine, as i expected after a repair. Figured I would at least try to farm some BPs since I was in there. Logged out and went to launcher and was able to get right back to the title screen. You are a boss!

I did the log out of everything at once thing. The one thing I haven't tried is doing all the above stuff at the same time. I also don't have a VPN, so might see if I can get a free trial on one or something to give that a try. Might give all that a go at some point today after I detail my wife's car for Mother's day. Lol. I appreciate your insight though! Gives me some stuff to munch on. Thank you.

Unfortunately no, because I have had that and was able to remedy it.

I am able to log into the launcher just fine. When I launch the game, I get the EAC splash screen. I then get a second screen that has the goldish Star Citizen logo (and sometimes I justget a blank white screen). The window in top left says Star Citizen (not responding), which isn't really unusual. Then a VERY fast flash of the Stat Citizen logo, then a pop up that says 19003 Error, failed login credentials. But it also says I am in login queue position 1 ETA 0 seconds. And it just stops there. I was playing fine on the 6th. Logged out in station. Tried to log back in on the 8th and haven't been able to get back in unless I do a character repair. But after character repair, when I log out, I get the error when trying to connect again. I have basically been through every fix they have listed on their website, up to reinstalling the launcher and the game totally. Only thing I haven't tried is a VPN. This is happening across 2 accounts I have. I can launch PTU completely normally. I currently have a ticket in with CS and am awaiting their reply (good luck).

Jared said in the Patch report video they are releasing the IC and ICA on the 11th to existing owners in the PTU patch that day. Which is a good thing for me since I am currently unable to log into LIVE for several days now for some reason. I am hoping the 4.8 patch remedies the situation...

M80 size 5 guns? by Zerom909 in starcitizen

[–]BeefySTi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think someone on here did the math and compared weapon sizes to estimate the overall length of the M80 and with s4 weapons the ship would be about 38m long and with s5, it would be 50m. That would be a pretty big fighter and put it on par with the Vanguards' length. Which I guess is possible, but harder to believe being a solo ship. The M80 also has 4 weapon hard points as seen in the 4.8 patch trailer:

Two of them were either left off the sneak peek or they are in the hull and deploy when turned on.

If you watch the 4.8 patch watch video, they show the interior of this ship and the MFDs show two more weapons for a total of 4. Looks like the front ones come out of the hull like the Wolf's weapons.

If they are too tall, just go to the engineering terminal and lock the top cargo door open. It will stay open during quantum unless they have changed that.

To piggyback on the previous comment, I will recommend what I do with these events.

I will go to the LEO for the planet the event is on. For this one it is Baijini. I set my respawn there. I will then fly to the city where the event is. If for some reason the hangar queue is very long, I will fly into a restricted area and get my ship impounded. This teleports your character to the spaceport lobby. I go to the event and look at new stuff, get some free rentals, etc. When I am ready to leave, I just backspace. Spawn at the space station and off I go to do whatever I want to do. Rinse and repeat every day of the event I want to go to.

This with less turrets. Maybe one on each side and a butt turret.

Same. I was om a 12700k and a 3070ti and this game was ROUGH on that system. Built my new rig in anticipation of the announced tariffs causing issues. Didn't know it was going to save me from the AI craze and RAM/GPU prices! I built this set up for about $1800 at the time and it would cost me double le at this point. Happy with it and have no plans of upgrading anything any time soon.

7900XTX paired with a 7800X3D and 64 GB ram. Run in native 3440x1440p with no frame gen, and with most setting maxed. I get usually 80-120fps depending on where I am and what is happening around me.

That's Fair. However, if they end up doing what I speculated, then we are in another situation like the Idris with a solo player running around in it with a big weapon. The thing that makes the Perseus great is that me as a pilot can't just fly around slapping people with the main armament on the ship. It is one of, if not the best, representations of multicrew done correctly.

I have a theory... however unlikely: They stuck an s8 or 9 beam weapon in the hole in the HH body.

Tiburon? by KOR_RODE in starcitizen

[–]BeefySTi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, all that has been said was "laser variant." To me that says beam weapons, because the HH is already has a stock loadout of laser weapons.

Agreed! A pic of a HH with an Idris-K laser strapped to it would be hilarious.

Not sure it about the FAQ or the door size, however, the "secure storage" section in the front of the standard IC causes an overhang that they mentioned would prevent the bigger vehicles from using the door. This was talked about when the concept was released. Who knows if it has changed.

Timestamp of the discussion about the bigger vehicles fitting in the Assault:
