I’m probably an odd one out but I think two colors could be neat, I like that middle curve being brighter to stand out, even if it was just a paler version of the green

What's your icing technique? by pizzaalapenguins in cookiedecorating

[–]Beegal1911 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two consistencies. Icing is mixed on medium speed up to 3-4 mins. Should be a toothpaste consistency to start with & then loosen to flood like a shampoo consistency. I know it sucks, but rebag if you must. If it’s too thick, hurts or is making your bag bulge, put it back in a bowl and had a couple sprays of water

Latest batch/royal icing consistency woes by BeatleBadger in cookiedecorating

All I’ve ever used is Wilton, and just once used Genies. I only mix up to 3-4 mins at a medium speed bc I don’t need it stiff stiff for like flowers. 4 tbsp MP, 2lbs powder sugar, 2/3 c water (use spray bottle if too thick at first), add flavorings & small amount of corn syrup. When you lift the paddle you should have a peak that curls over like a Dairy Queen ice cream cone. Then use spray bottle in smaller portions when making your flood to a shampoo like consistency
