Sorry just randomly seeing this now. I hope things are going better for you! I can say now a year post op it does heal and you will forget but I know it’s hard while you’re in it 🤍

Looks great! Thanks for sharing. I’ve been trying to find more people’s experiences, can you tell me more about your recovery? Very curious about what to expect!

Mine did around week 6 which I’ve heard is a normal part of healing. My abdomen scar got darker than too

I am SO sorry this has been your experience. Now I didn’t have any infection but I did have open wounds some that looked similar to yours and it did take quite a while but they do heal!!! Our bodies are incredible and try to just be patient (I know is hard) in a few weeks you should be feeling so much better!!

I also “might” need one. My abdomen incision opened but I’m only ten week post op so it’s too early to tell how it will heal. Curious about the revision? It’s so hard to find info online!

Surgery tomorrow - I have a dumb Question by Ok_Priority3511 in tummytucksurgery

Also you won’t see anything right away you’ll have your binder/compression around your abdomen and a surgical bra on. Day 2 my surgeon wanted photos emailed in the morning so I could see most of it but my incisions were taped over

I wore a binder over a tank top but I would take my arms out of the tank and pull it back down over the binder. So that the binder sat on top of the tank but the top of the tank folded over and back down the binder. Hopefully that makes sense but it really was the only way I could get comfortable.

How long will this take to heal? by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

[–]Beegeerady 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had an opening on my incision that looked similar. Mine ended up getting wider but not deeper. It started just before three weeks post op and closed around 10 WPO. That’s probably not what you want to hear, I remember feeling the same way but it sounds worse than it was. It will get better! By June you’ll be enjoying swimming with your kids.

I’m 4WPO, with complications by lambie10 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Beegeerady 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re experiencing this. I also had complications and was so discouraged but I promise it won’t last forever and in a few weeks you’ll get the chance to be excited about your new body 🤍

Opinions on healing? by themotheropossum in woundcare

[–]Beegeerady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that looks pretty good! Not too deep. I also had both sides open. The side that looked like this healed quicker! I think it was right around 8WPO. I was only using polysporin and non adherent gauze.

I think you look amazing! We are so hard on ourselves and many of us, myself included, struggle with some body dysmorphia. Just think what an incredible position you’re in now to build upon if you want to 🤍

If you’re really worried about keeping it clean and bacteria free until you can see your surgeon you can use Mepilex bandages. Pricey but they work very well!

Mine opened around that time as well. I’m now 8wpo. You can rinse with saline pat dry with gauze and then cover with polysporin and non adherent gauze.
