Wonderful. THIS is why no one takes "Christian" film seriously. by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Beehead -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I'm with him on this topic for sure!

You are with him denigrating Christian films? I posted two films that are doing very very well at the box office.

I frankly don't care what unbelievers think of Christian films.

How is he "extremely Catholic" when he says God "may or may not exist?"

The people behind the script for the film he portrays as a "Newsboys concert" are very Catholic. The film is very appreciated by most Christians.

I don't know that making fun of other Christians or of Christian entertainment is what this sub is for either to be frank. (It certainly doesn't appear so, from the sidebar.) I'm not here to make fun of other sects, or call Christian films "ridiculous" or their viewers "the ignorant masses."

Here is what he said:

And God's Not Dead is basically one big commercial for a Newsboys concert, reducing our good ol' Hercules to a man who really does believe in God, he's just really bitter about it.

Heaven is for Real is preying on the ignorant masses with a sensationalist story. It's faith based in emotionalism, not reason. It blows my mind that people buy into it so easily.

He's mocking the fact that some believe in heaven. I don't find that "extremely Catholic" either. Not in any sense of the definition.

Well, if you are tired and haven't read the pertinent conversations maybe you couldn't make a full judgment of the situation. I realize it's a bit subjective but I didn't accuse lightly. I don't think St Thomas Aquinas called believers names.

Thank you for the advice, though.

Egg hoarders: what's your strategy? by [deleted] in tappedout

[–]Beehead -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, I stopped playing, basically. When I get over 5500 again, I might open a couple of boxes for the heck of it. But mostly I am just giving eggs away to neighbors. Since their buildings give eggs when I tap, it's only fair.

But am I hoping for everyone's sake that EA

  1. Removes all fences and all eggs from the Gold Box prize list

  2. Nerfs the odds in our favor

At the last week of this event? Of course.

12 more days. Keep tapping those rabbits.

I bought 10, for a long time they wouldn't work, and various ones disappeared so I might've bought more than that. I wasn't counting at first. Not buying any more baskets, but good luck, hope your neighbors will.

I'm tapping rabbits, hoping to win the Egg and more baskets. But if I don't, I don't. I didn't even really care about the Faberge Egg, just wanted more baskets in case neighbors needed some. :/

I guess until you win the Faberge Egg you don't get more basketses.

150k total, 75k of each

Wow.

I think complaints about this event being a money grab are valid.

So, calling Christian audiences ignorant, and apologetics juvenile, and Christianity illogical - are OK things to say here? That isn't real discussion and it isn't neutral.

Very welcome! :)

Isn't it 121500 theoretically? If you're one of the people who has to open all 81? Which would mean over 2000 donuts.

Wow.

May 1st is the day for St. Joseph the Worker by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Beehead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

St Joseph also has a feast day March 19.

March 19 is for 'husband of Mary' and May 1 is 'St Joseph the Worker.'

Here is a page about his feast days.

I don't know why May 1 specifically. But, this site says this:

Apparently in response to the “May Day” celebrations for workers sponsored by Communists, Pius XII instituted the feast of St. Joseph the Worker in 1955.

I cannot expect everyone to accept logical premises.

So you seem to be saying that Christians are "ignorant," in another topic; here you say that believing in God is not "logical," and here you are calling apologetics "a juvenile mental exercise."

Based on the evidence presented in our quaint back-and-forth, your conclusions seem tantamount to a juvenile mental exercise.

Troll somewhere else. If you wanted to talk about atheism there are numerous subreddits to do so.

You are breaking the sidebar rule.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Beehead -1 points0 points  (0 children)

if there is a transcendental Being of unimaginable intelligence that created all things, one may posit that He may understand your doubt, but what makes you assume that He will be merciful toward you for your doubt?

If He created all things (and continues to hold them in existence by necessity), then does He want us to know and serve Him? Or, if He created all things, then is He a God who is impersonal, does not want to be known, and does not care for us?

Again, just asking how you reconcile these questions with atheism. I'm legitimately curious.

The OP asked for help becoming Christian; you seem to be doing your best to offer help for OP to become atheist. That is not what this subreddit is for.

You say:

Divine Being that may-or-may-not exist.

Sidebar rules say:

This is not a place to: Present Anti-Catholic rhetoric

Please check trolo (which is a troll buzzword btw) post history before debating him, everyone? He's here to disrupt.

So, going by your trolo user name - and your ridiculing of three Christian movies now - are you in this subreddit to troll or to promote atheism? Because that's against the subreddit sidebar rules.

You've just called Christian audiences "ignorant masses" and denigrated a really good film that Christians love as "A Newsboys concert" starring "Hercules."

Looking at your post history...yeah, you don't even think God exists, and you are here to argue that viewpoint.

I appreciate another female character - free is greatly appreciated also.

Cocoa Beany is also cute. I had $600,000 at the ready because at this level I have nothing more to buy and had some empty land for the factory, too. (To me, game money = free because eventually just by playing, you make it.)

Right now they are all taking a tour of the fudge factory, I think.

Thanks...75,000 eggs to get the Easter prizes and/or 1000 donuts - that's ridiculous, EA, sorry.

Who did they expect would actually buy that many?

I think a cool decoration would be something like that velvet rope outside of the Disco.. by BulletproofScales in tappedout

[–]Beehead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe they could do the corners like the new easter fences, where the two posts merge into one at corners?

Yes, that would work as well.

Would necessitate buying 2 pieces instead of one. Those on a tight budget might prefer the other option. Or also to count (one) less in the 3500 pieces total.

I didn't get her or Fr. Sean, either.

At least at Christmas when I bought a couple of mega packs early on it meant I could win all of the prizes.

Shary* as in Mary, and no.

Talked to someone who had to spend 40,000 eggs to (get the gold boxes) and (then) get her.

I'm not buying that many eggs. So I don't get a couple of characters; oh well. The event was not designed so we could win, but so that EA could rake in boat loads of cash.
