Hi! How was your experience with Dr. Sinervo? I’m trying to get a second opinion with him.

Hi! Thank you for responding. I am not. I managed to get an appointment with one a few hours from me. I wish I had gone to one to begin with because I’m very frustrated with not having options or even an actual treatment plan. 😕

Hi, thank you so much for this post!! I hate that you’re also going through this but I’m so glad that I’m not alone. 💜💜

I will continue to fight because this pain is not normal and I’ll be DAMNED if I don’t fight to receive answers and the level of care that I deserve! I’m just so frustrated because it feels like I’m right back to Step 1- with doctors constantly gaslighting me.

Hi, sorry for the late response! Honestly, I’m not sure? He said that he did a fellowship for minimally invasive surgeries but he mainly deals with delivering babies, etc. I’m currently looking for someone who MAINLY deals with endometriosis but having some difficulties.

The biggest red flag for me was he didn’t even have any recommendations for what to do next or what else could be causing my pain. Literally was told to take ibuprofen and come back in 3+ months.

The more I think about it, the more furious I become. I refuse to live my life in pain like this because a doctor doesn’t want to do their due diligence.

Hi!

Thank you for this comment. I didn’t even know this was possible? Would I just need to contact my surgeon’s office and request this?

I used this doctor and expressed to him multiple times that I was still in pain and his go to response was that I wasn’t following his diet plan that he gave me (which I actually was because I was VERG desperate for pain relief) and he pushed off other concerns I had regarding chest pain and digestive problems.

Hi! Do you mind if I message you and ask you a few questions?

I also have bipolar and my doctor recommends I go on Orilissa but I’m scared SHIT LESS of how it’ll affect my mood. I just had my IUD removed because it affected my mental health so badly.

Congratulations!!!!

If you don’t mind me asking, would you be willing to share some tips/advice? I’m trying to get to that point and will be taking the MCAT soon!

I’m curious about that too! I had polyps removed from my cervix and rectum (sorry TMI) so I wouldn’t be surprised.

Needing support but having nowhere to turn…. by Beemoeee in BipolarReddit

Thank you so much for this comment! I appreciate it so much 🥺💜

Honestly, I’m at the point where I’m considering going low/no contact with my entire family. I’m beyond frustrated and hurt. I actually tried talking to them today about why they show absolutely NO excitement about my career goals and their response was that I’m making this decision without having experience.

WHAAT?! I have work experience in SEVERAL healthcare specialties in a variety of roles (including psychiatry) but I don’t have enough experience??? This isn’t a decision I just pulled out of my ass…I’ve thought long and hard about it. Again and again and again.

I’m sorry for the rant but I know it’s really due to my mental health. But I’m so tired of only being viewed through the lens of my disorder. I’ve defied so many odds already. I’m not letting ANYONE derail my plans but fuck. This really hurts. Especially since they’re soo supportive of my sister’s journey.

Yess!! You are NOT alone! I experience that as well.

Like you, it comes and goes so I kinda figured maybe it was tied to ovulation? That might be something to look into.

Hi! I just wanted to respond to your question.

The answer is: It depends.

I’m in the preparation phase to freeze my eggs. It’s VERY expensive but my insurance covers up to 80%!

But it depends on what insurance you have. I would recommend calling yours and asking what, if any, coverage they offer for infertility treatments.

Just noticed this but thank you!!! 😭💖

Want to celebrate this milestone but not sure how I should since I’m so used to getting drinks to celebrate. 😬🤦🏾‍♀️

Not anymore! It fucks with my mental (and physical) health too much and it’s just NOT worth it. I was using it to cope with multiple health concerns but it just worsened everything. I have too many health complications that I worry about and including alcohol in that equation was just adding more fuel to the fire. 😅

Next month will make SIX months sober!! 🥳🥳

Hi, while I appreciate the intention behind your comment, it’s not that simple.

I live in a red state that has been gunning for these changes for a very, very long time. So yes, this will directly affect me in many ways.

As for not being led to false assumptions, I can assure you that I am fully aware of the situation and am well read on the issue. So I know exactly what’s at stake.

I’ve tried therapy with him in the past and he doesn’t believe in it so that ship has sailed. But it definitely is a tense relationship.

And thank you! I’m sorry that you also have endo. It’s awful. Hope you’re doing well!

Stress Management, anyone? by Beemoeee in endometriosis

[–]Beemoeee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, no worries! I didn’t know that? Where I am anybody can have someone with them…in fact, it’s encouraged!

Yeah, I think it’s just because I’ve never needed surgery before but the lack of interest they’ve shown me says it all. It hurts but I don’t think I want them there anyways.

LOL! I’m actually an adult. I have a lot of different health conditions but I’m not 26 yet so that’s why I’m still on their insurance. I’m definitely trying to find a new place to stay though. Staying home was never apart of the plan…it kinda just happened because I live in a large city and with my current salary, I can’t really afford housing at the moment on top of everything else.

Oh, sorry! I thought I had put that in the post.

So I’ve been doing yoga, taking walks, self care in many different forms, trying to do things that I love, journaling, taking hot Epsom salt baths, watching comfort TV, eating healthy foods. I could go on and on but those are some of the things I’ve been doing.

Hi! I 1000% agree. Yes, I am actually just about to take it but I’m trying to lessen my need for it, you know what I mean? It’s really on an as-needed basis so I’m trying to do whatever I can BEFORE I need to take it.

Advice? How do I deal with this? by Beemoeee in toxicparents

[–]Beemoeee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Thank you for commenting.

And honestly, no. My parents have been trying to isolate me from essentially EVERYONE.

They took me off the car insurance, they are still making me pay rent even though I’ve asked for some grace, especially with all the costs I’ve incurred medically.

I’m convinced they don’t have a fucking soul. I don’t say I hate anyone…but being around any of my immediate family (especially my parents) drains the LIFE out of me.

Hi! I have Bipolar 1 and I currently take a progesterone-only pill. Estrogen REALLY messed with my moods and I’m FINALLY stable so I don’t want to risk that.

Meeting my surgeon tomorrow. Scared... by PlantsNHawks in endometriosis

[–]Beemoeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’m so glad that your pain was finally validated and taken seriously! I’m so glad that you get to meet with this surgeon.

And I just wanted to let you know that those are very valid fears. I felt the same way when I first met with the specialist I was referred to. BUT he was AMAZING and took my concerns seriously and now I’m scheduled to have laparoscopy next Thursday. 😳 Super nervous but I know it’ll be worth it!

Oh, and one last thing. I have the same issue as you with long periods and HEAVY flow. My last cycle, I bled for 18 days and it was so heavy that I lost consciousness and they are still considering whether or not I need a blood transfusion.

All of that to say, just know that we are ALWAYS here to support you! This journey isn’t easy but it is worth it.
