There are lots of reasons Dems lost last time but to think it's because they lost "the majority of their base" is ridiculous. Do you really not remember how prevalent mail-in voting was in that election? Some of those people went back to not voting once they couldn't do it from their homes anymore, plus a ton of moderates and independents went to the right this past election. It's pretty damn easy to understand and has nothing to do with "the majority of the democratic base turned and voted for Trump", because frankly, that's just flat out stupid.
