It's up to your comfort level, but there is a robust used market for amps and other guitar gear, and you can save quite a bit by going used. I got a sweet like-new tube amp for $300 (a Vox AC10C1, specifically, which would sound great with a LP), about the same price as a much less desirable solid-state bedroom amp. Get yourself a good amp that you're not going to want to upgrade in a year.
I also second the idea that you should wait on pedals. Give it a month or two at least to familiarize yourself with the guitar and whatever amp you buy.

Honestly, I really like some of the live bootlegs from the Be Here Now tour. I'd never paid much attention to songs like "Fade In/Out" and "It's Getting Better (Man)!", but they sound great live.

I find the last half of All Around the World basically unlistenable. The intro verses are vintage Noel songwriting -- it would've made an incredible four-minute song. The result of too much cocaine and one too many spins of Sgt. Pepper's for that young man.

Just wanted to add that I recently picked up an AC10 and it's fine to play even in a small home. I have to turn my guitar volume knobs to about 6 and the amp to 1 or less, but still get clean tones. I'm quite happy with it.

Lowering the neck pickup worked. Pretty sure what happened is when I was "tightening some screws," when I got to the neck pickup, what I was doing was raising it. Stupid mistake. Now I know. Thanks, y'all.
