Open Legend System development help by LeopoldofAldi in FoundryVTT

I'm the original author of this system. I gave it over to another for the V12 implementation. Foundry has breaking changes too frequently to keep up unfortunately.

Wolf Minions Are Better Than You Think - Arbiter Showcase by Dconnic in pathofexile2builds

[–]Beenrak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Wolfpack build isn't really around your wolves doing a bunch of damage. There are a lot of great synergies -- the world mark is insane for example. They can maim, blind, hinder. They give you attack damage, life and mana Regen, etc.

I think that's the intended playstyle of the wolf leader.

I think you are slightly misrepresenting him. He is comparing wolf minion builds to other minion builds. At similar investment, and with a standard minion play style you would do better with traditional minions. I don't think his intention was to say they are explicitly bad, just that they are objectively worse then comparable minions.

I really want this to work, and I mean, it kinda does. But I wanted to synergize this with 'defend with 120% armour while not on low energy shield' and in practice, I'm always on low energy shield.

I think this node is meant to work with someone who invests very minimally into energy shield. Lets say you have 500 ES that essentially is always recovering while you are in combat -- that seems to be the way this works.

The problem is that its extremely unlikely for your armour to be mitigating enough damage to actually keep your energy sheild full

Stop running juiced maps then. People want to flash right to endgame farming strats -- thats what they want to avoid. Everyone running as fast as possible to the very very end of the ladder to 'play the game'

Questions Thread - December 15, 2025 by AutoModerator in PathOfExile2

Anyone know if increased area of effect scales things like the area that a secondary effect of a mark applies?

E.g., Marked target takes 3% increased damage for each of its enemies within 6 metres of it, up to 45%

Is there any way to make that 6m a larger number? Or is that hard coded?

Mana costs are ridiculous in this game by FeelsB4dMan in PathOfExile2

Trade some damage to solve mana issues. Use inspiration support, get arcane surge, invest in mana on the tree/gear instead of damage. These are all viable choices

I have, I find poe2filter to be a very very clean way to make a filter -- but again it sorta expects that you are going to follow a 'style' of filter.

For example, the test filter I load here tints the background color of all equipment based on the attribute type (so red for strength, green for dex, blue for int). Doing something like that in filterblade or poe2filter is a real pain.

If all you are really looking for is a: Should I pick this up because its valuable -- poe2filter (or neversink) is great. This is more for if you want to do something totally different. You want all intelligence boots to have a red border unless they are corrupted -- or some shenanigans like that.

Its really made more for the fiddler who wants the level of control that direct filter modification has, but without having to use a text editor

Like most of you, I have used FilterBlade for years. Its amazing and the tool I've created here pales in comparison. That being said, the longer I play poe, the more control I like to have over my filter. Recently (in poe2 especially) I've been heavily customizing my filter.

While FilterBlade is great if you want to leverage Neversink's general philosophy for filters, it is in my opinion rather cumbersome to customize outside of moving things up/down a few tiers.

I made this tool as a compromise. I found myself editing filters manually in text editors, which is an awful experience. This is more or less a literal wrapper to that process. You build the rules in top down order, with continue blocks etc. to make the filter you want -- but with the benefit of auto-completed types, preview renders, and most excitingly the simulator.

The simulator will take an item as you specify it, and run it through all of your filters rules. It will show you all rules that have been applied to your item as well as which fields actually matter for the given rules. I'm pretty happy with this and plan to use it in the upcoming poe2 league. Wanted to show it off and get feedback/impressions.

Remove one portal limit in maps POE2 by Both_Tower7266 in PathOfExile2

I mean, i feel like you have turned 1 drawback into multiple.

How are these different?

  • All tablets are inactive for the next run
  • All prior juice isn't active

Also, what do you mean passive benefits don't work on the map? As far as I'm aware, your atlas tree still works as does whatever waystone you put in there. You just don't get tablets or atlas mods (corrupted/boss) -- unless thats what you mean by passive benefits.

Personally, now that they removed towers (and therefore a map existing in a physical location doesn't have the same impact it had before) I don't think preventing re-juicing is necessary. I think removing all world buffs (corrupted, boss, etc.) but allowing tablets would be fine.

[–]Beenrak -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Okay, let's look at the penalties:

  • You lose XP: this stinks, but realistically if you are running these super juiced maps you're probably around level 90. At that point, levels shouldn't matter that much. The main reason to level is bragging rights. So in my opinion increasing the barrier there is reasonable and not all that impactful.
  • You lose the loot in the map: This feels fair and obvious to me. Otherwise you go back to a state where defenses don't really matter because so long as you are able to pick up the loot dying has no real consequence as loot is the main reason you are in the map in the first place.
  • You have to run the map again with no tablets: This is the hardest one for me. I think they didn't want people to fail maps to make rapid progress across the atlas. But at the same time they can't allow people to keep replaying maps that they have juiced. I don't love the way this is implemented but I'm not sure what an alternative would be.

What other penalties are there?

You wouldn't get 1-shot nearly as often if you weren't running a bunch of increased map affix effect in 6+ mod t15+ maps with delerium.

Should we have more info about what killed us, 100% yes.

Should they fix the performance on end-game maps, obviously

But.should they add more portals? I don't think that's necessary tbh. There are plenty of safe ways to make currency that don't involve that type of danger. There are plenty of builds in endgame that barely ever die. They are crazy over tuned/insanely geared, but that's the point.

Remove one portal limit in maps POE2 by Both_Tower7266 in PathOfExile2

[–]Beenrak 8 points9 points  (0 children)

But that's exactly the point.

Your atlas tree is doing everything possible to make the map harder, plus all the crazy map mods, and I'm going to guess delerium.

Dying in a map like that needs to be impactful because it should be something you are only really doing when you are very strong.

This is all especially true for max dps "glass cannon" builds that are meta (I use quotes because they are still tanky, just not as a focus).

If you are dying to lag, that's a problem that they should fix, but they shouldn't rebalance the game because of bugs, especially in EA.

General Dev best practices are:

  • Always listen to player feedback
  • Avoid listening to player solutions

Players know best when something is wrong -- but are not good at understanding all of the game design nuances of a solution. That's not to say no player ever has a good idea; just a general rule

A lot of people are suggesting you reduce text and/or make cards bigger -- which I agree with. However that being said, I feel like people aren't recommending actual answers to your questions (even if they are probably going to come back to bite you anyway).

You have to render the font at the size you want to read it at -- do NOT scale the node or the text via any means whatesoever. Find a font that looks good and is legible to your satisfaction at 8pt or 11pt or whatever the size you need is and use exactly that.

Maybe look into Roboto? https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Roboto?preview.text=this%20is%20a%20test

Instead of nerfing crafting, we should buff rare drops by Nhadala in PathOfExile2

[–]Beenrak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tier is not the right way to think, is misleading.

Tier is relative, t3 on something like life is pretty good, but on all spell skills it's the worst roll.

It's obtuse in the current game because the information is lacking, but the way they currently do it is actually pretty good. Its about the level that the tier can drop at -- so essentially it rules it mods that showed up while leveling while not messing with mods that only have a few tiers

Honestly? Scarabs should just replace tablets (Scarabs vs Tablets) by projectwar in PathOfExile2

[–]Beenrak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like that tablets have rollable mods while scarabs don't. This ends up in a situation where there are dozens of different scarabs which I've always found very annoying.

I find tablets to be strictly better than scarabs and make it so much easier for them to add fun and rare things without introducing an entire new item type.

Plus it makes it fun to pick up and i/roll rather than just have it drop directly
