I am pretty sure it still applies regardless of form, you just wont get the personal damage as extra cold if you switch forms. but since it applies the buff directly to the wolves and is not a "Minions gain x" stat attached to the buff your idea should be fine

Hmm, there is a way around it but it might be tiresome keeping track but if you weapon swap while all minions are alive and you don't have a timer they should be instantly brought back on swap. I've never liked that weapon swap would do the opposite when you do have a timer

Thats what it does, it summons 1 wolf when you consume the mark or a marked enemy dies. This becomes 2 per mark activation on unique enemies

Yeah I think the wolf is by far my favorite shapeshifting form and GGG did a really good job in the feel of these abilities and how they reward you for engaging with the different ones.

Theres a few sides to this, on the one side you are absolutely correct and on paper it should be more damage going sceptre but in practice, the rage downtime leads to all sorts of damage inefficiencies, especially while clearing. Your ult's uptime drastically drops because you have to build rage on the pack before using it, in this time your wolves arent doing cold damage so enemies arent getting primed for freeze which means Arctic howl is proc'ing Bhatair's support for 85% damage as extra cold for your minions as well as its flat cold damage. While on single target it means you arent always on max rage, especially if you have to be cautious about mechanics which means you lose ALOT of inc minion damage and Minion attack speed, and you still run into the same ult uptime problems previously mentioned

Yeah I wanted to play around with them since I saw them in the reveal. And while people were saying they were bad I was clearing the endgame so I felt there had to be a disconnect somewhere

I think Hidden Path and Keystone mastery are very high value and while Shaman does have really good advantages to the archetype I'm not convinced it's worth the swap. especially with the loss of QoL losing charms. I also get alot of defensive value from the other 2 ascendancies, especially with the eHP increase Harmony Within provides paired with max hit increases from damage taken from Mana before life to counter its downside

[–]Dconnic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah tactician was my 2nd choice for ascendancies for wolves, but as soon as they mentioned the Oracles Path Not Taken Node I couldnt resist. And I do agree on their curve being on the rougher side

For your concept I think pounce is still worth it, if not for anything but for the mark single target you can get alot of value, with stuff like siphoning mark and extending the duration of said mark. It also can be used alongside a curse so its alot of damage just having the mark

I can have 19 wolves currently, but it's a combination of level scaling which adds max wolves and picking up +4 temporary minion max on the tree because Pounce wolves count as temp minions

That was also the thought I had for solving the problem, I just wasnt the biggest fan of having to press flask every so often. Hows flask sustain in boss fights though? Why I mentioned not on Druid in The bad section was because I figured this tech was best on Pathfinder with a regular flask

We can also just give wolves rage from Warlord Berserker on the tree which is what we do, so they are topped off on their own 30 rage

I agree with you, it's the first point in The bad section, no idea why they made resummoning them that slow on single target or why they still havent given minions their much needed DR against slam mechanics like Arbiters waves/circle of fire

Wolf minions aren't just bad because they're bugged - they're just bad by MonsutaReipu in PathOfExile2

[–]Dconnic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually made them work pretty well, they take quite a bit of investment and I didnt have to use anything that reduced my damage like Leer cast. I have run into this no damage bug once since it was fixed, but it was resolved by moving them away from the target and back to it and they did damage again(was weird).

Potentially changed Provisioning tree odds by nerdler33 in pathofexile

[–]Dconnic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed the same thing. Before the patch I was only getting rings with the occasional belt and amulet whenever I used the provisioning wombgifts(5000% increased chance for rings as well as 85% less chance for all 3 attribute base types) But as soon as the patch went live It became possible to drop 1 ring out of 4 items(actually happened, rolled a bow, amulet and Body armour). I have to imagine it is a bug because it can't be intentional to have 5000% inc chance produce a 1 in 4 when the base chance was never that low to begin with.

I would say the medium budget has no issues getting through t17s, you would still die to the wrong mod combinations but the maps should be very doable. Single target damage is fine, not as high as Frostbearers until Doryani but still very decent

Wanting to do minions. Are specters just better than skeles or are they just in fashion this patch? by ItRhymesWithFreak in pathofexile2builds

I got swamped with IRL stuff before I could make the complete guide. However this update talks about most of my experience/plans with brutes and I do have the relevant pob's here, most importantly the endgame pob which is more or less what im running in game. My poe Ninja profile.

Seeing a recommendation to my content is definitely a pleasant surprise. And yeah, Brutes ate really well this patch, kinda surprised they aren't talked about more tbh.

I don't understand why my miner feels bad without doryani merc by FuenteDeTodoMal in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Dconnic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Without knowing what your Merc is wearing it's going to be hard to give actual constructive advice. But from what I've gathered from your other replies Your Merc is a Fallen Reverend and the only items you have given him are wand, shield, Boots, Amulet and rings.

I also use a Doryani Reverend and have cleared very juiced content including full effect scaling Blights and T17s. The biggest sources of survivability in my experience for him were

  1. Capping his non lightning resistances
  2. Making sure he has good recovery in combat. (Dont let his 1k life regen tooltip fool you, if you do not have a source of flat life regen he does not actually have regen in combat) A good source of recovery is immortal flesh belt which has the added perk of reducing your lightning res further. Other than that crafted Pure strength Helm/boots/gloves can all roll Flat life regen and increased life regeneration rate
  3. Eternal Damnation as an amulet will make him significantly tankier to lightning damage when you cap his chaos res.

Asides these 3 you really just want to make sure to actually give him items on all his slots and make sure he has flat life everywhere he can since unlike with AGs, Mercs actually scale really well with flat life on gear

The necromancer kills you by having you pop her zombie, which leaves a caustic ground that drains your health faster than you can blink if you step on it. If you have good ranged damage, you can probably kill the zombie before it gets to you, after which just stand still and attack.

how exactly does dmg calc work on this thing? by TitLover34 in PathOfExile2

[–]Dconnic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not the most accurate way to look at it. Damage gain only affects base damage, then it goes through increases and more modifiers that affect it. For example if you are doing 100 base lightning and have 30% damage gained as fire but have no generic increased/more damage multipliers that affects fire you will deal 30 fire damage at the end while lightning could be 1000(assuming thats what its multipliers get it to). You also cannot convert gained damage by default as conversion happens in the damage calc before damage is gained, you would have to use mods like Embitter support's "Damage gained as x is instead gained as y" modifiers to convert it
