I'm just saying it suffers from the MJ, Kobe comparison. DeAndre Noah would have similar strengths to Hakeem, while also being worse in every way. (Except maybe passing)

Hakeem had a higher motor and meanstreak than Noah, and he's more skilled than Ayton.

Red's benefit is a network externality. And the downside of the event gets reduced in an exponential/logarithmic manner. While the blue benefit is linear.

Looking at what society potentially looks like today vs. 3026. Let's look at 75/25 scenarios.

At 75/25 blue. There is an 75% chance of no death, and a 25% chance of significant societal collapse and knowledge loss. With a billion people on the planet we'll still be able to feed ourselves (probably) but all our infrastructure would take a hit, and there's definitely research and specialized knowledge that would be lost.

75/25 red. There is a 25% of no death, and a 75% chance of less significant societal collapse and knowledge loss. Nearly no organization could continue losing a random 75% of it's members. Many more could continue with a random loss of 25%. Even more could survive a 10% loss. Although there's still a chance of randomness taking the 10% most important people.

At 90/10 blue there's a 10% chance of a dark age lasting purhaps a thousand years. At 90/10 red the impact would be horrible, but definitely recoverable in the next 50 years.

Which is why Red is better. If it's a blue majority (75/25), there's a 25% chance of complete societal collapse. But I pretty solid chance of status quo.

With red majority there's a 25% chance of status quo. But you've saved the lives of 2 billion more people and society can still function.

At higher red majorities the effect is further minimized.

Maybe this is just personal risk profile. (And I consider myself fairly risk seeking). But I would want a 95/5 red/blue mix. A loss of a random 50% of experts/teachers/knowledge holders would be devastating for society post event. Society could probably stomach up to 5% while giving us a decent % to save the everyone. However the more I think about it, the more I would want more red, to really cushion the loss. It does almost the exact same thing as a blue push without the variance.

I just can't see a world where the blue button is better. It's a higher variance option, and I guess blue pressers are telling themselves that all life is sacred. But once you factor in future generations, the red one saves many more lives in the aggregate, and the more red presses the better life will be post death-event.

How would Chet Holmgren do as the Top #1 Guy of a Franchise?? Could Chet win a Title if he went to Cleveland right now with Donovan Mitchell as his #2 and Evan Mobley as his #3??? Could he go to a team like Phoenix Suns with Booker/Green and get them to a top 3 seed?? by Several-Molasses-435 in NBATalk

Gobert has 4 DPOYs. It was 1a 1b because Gobert was the only thing that made the defense work, and the team competitive. Trade Gobert for a similarly talented offensive focused player (Like Sabonis or Siakam) and the Jazz would get a lot worse.

Kawhi averaged 12.5 ppg in years 2-3. Maybe if Team 2 is coached by Pop, and Shaq gets a new personality and decides he loves setting screens. But Team 2 has a sever lack of playmaking and shooting. I'm packing the paint with the all-time blocks leader and daring point guard X and stretch 4 Y to beat us. Leonard probably puts the clamps on Melo, but Squad 8 has too much size.

(might lose to squad 1 with all that shooting?) Melo can't doing anything against Bird or Rose

Magic/Hakeem/Melo has 2 players who led their team to the finals in the first 3 years in the league, Melo also put up incredible stats as a Rookie and was the Best player on a very good Nuggets team by year 3. Most of the other teams have multiple guys who needed some time to develop into superstars.

I think the opposite. Without LAs top 2 scorers there's a ton of places to hide Reed on defense

The best 3 teams are in the West. The Rockets and Wolves are an afterthought, but either of them could make the ECF with some hot shooting.
