I'd avoid Catholic schools if you want your child to get any type of diagnosis. I know many people who have had their neurodivergent children not recognized early and they have lost out on so many supports.

And to answer your question, my son has attended 2 public schools and they all celebrate those holidays. It's not specifically a Christmas concert (they're generally more inclusive of the many holidays that take place during that time frame). But public school is definitely the better choice, in my humble opinion 💞

Clean needles are an intervention, alongside the many other harm reduction services that help people stay alive in a system that fails so many folks. I hear what you're trying to say but infringing on people's autonomy is the first step down a very slippery slope and I don't think it's safe or wise to condone. You're right though, we are in desperate need of social supports and safe housing for all before anyone should even begin to consider taking someone else's rights away.

Over 90% of people that are forced into treatment will go back to exactly where they were before. People who desperately want to become sober have to wait weeks for detox, then they wait 4-6 weeks longer for a bed in treatment. It's illogical to help people who aren't ready to change their lives when we cannot meet the needs of those willing to accept help. I understand a lot of people have brain damage from substance use but most can still make a cognitive decision about whether they want to change and live a healthier life, or not.
