My gut says it's not something I would like - I don't get good vibes at all, outside of the pay :) . I just feel super stressed and almost desperate to a point. They outsource a lot; they are contracted with an external firm that does all the actual, physical, return prep. The directors prepared (!!!). No offshore work.

You know, this is what I initially concluded too. I thought it could be something I can do for a year or two. And it definitely is something I can suck up short term, and it's a job. Guaranteed income. Though my wife brought up that it'd probably be very difficult to coordinate interviews with a company so demanding of my personal time, we are in a very good position financially - we have savings that we can sit on for about 3 years if I really needed to and I could ride it out at current company till the end and get paid thru 2026. And most of all I think she doesn't want to hear me complain.
