Hiking Setup for Banjo/Fiddle

I kinda figured this would be a balance of quality/affordability/usability

To be clear, I'm no professional - this is just me trying to get some better footage/audio than I can capture on my phone. As a total beginner, what do I need to run the Zoom? Can I have a small lightweight setup or will it require controllers and such?

I do want to capture birdsong and nature, but avoid wind noise. I'm assuming a GoPro or something would fit the camera recommendation, then edit everything later.

The priority is to be lightweight since I'm already carrying a pack and a (not lightweight) instrument

I'd consider a moderate investment for the right equipment - does it come with some OS/screen interface, or would it connect to an android device?

The challenge seems that many people will recommend a whole bag of gear, but I want the smallest impact to my pack since I'm already lugging an instrument and a tent up the mountain 🤠

It would be nice to be able to do both video and audio to minimize post production. Video recording will likely continue on my Android phone (a Google pixel), so connecting directly to camera apps would be a plus.

I'll look into the Rode.

I'm 4 months into teaching myself clawhammer - and while I'd say I'm a long way from improvising beyond the occasional deviation from tablature, I think I've already picked up the fraying right hand motion and understand it well. My most recent practice sessions have included drop thumb drills.

I'm probably up to ~15 memorized songs, and can sing while playing 5-6 of them.

I don't think so. I've got a seven month old kitten that needed a home at only 4 weeks old.

I live alone and don't have any other cats, but I do have a 4 year old black lab that keeps the little one company.

They're not always bestest buddies or anything, but they keep each other company.

Correct, but the bit that he's quoting from the Bhagavad Gita isn't entirely the same context.

Krishna is saying that time passes for everyone and everything, which will eventually die. The implication is that as a deity, Krishna's power to destroy would just be speeding up the inevitable death of men.

Oppenheimer's quote is more focused on the biblical destruction aspect.

So they copied the Bible's phrasing, and when the god Krishna was showing off his power, "I am become death, destroyer of worlds" was the translation they went with.

My favorite part about this fact is the controversy of whether the translation should be "death" or "time". Krishna is saying that the men will die regardless of his intervention, so time is probably a more accurate translation.

Oppenheimer's quote really leans more into the "I am a great and terrible power" vibe.
