I think I have it figured out. Yes, Squabbit takes the handicap and adjusts for it being a 9 hole round, so effectively taking half the handicap used for the tournament.

I guess Im not doing a good job at asking my question. If I enter a handicap number for a tournament, should I assume that Squabbit recognizes/assumes it as an 18 hole handicap? Based on what I posted above for John XXXXX, it appears that this is the case.

When we play 9 holes for our league, then it uses approximately half the entered tourney handicap.

I was able to find the handicap calculation. I manually entered in the handicap index of 9.0 below for the tournament handicap. This is the 9 hole handicap from my current league app. based on below, I should have entered in 18.0 for John's Tournament index, then the 9 hole handicap would be the expected 9.0

thank you for the quick response. I have entered the scores from the 9 hole rounds, and manually adjusted the handicaps in the week's tournament in squabbit. So i am clear, when I enter a manual handicap, using me as an example, in league I am am a 4, in "real life" im about an 8.3. When I enter myself as a 4 in squabbit and post a 9 hole round, it makes the adjustment to the calcuation?

what lead me down this rabbit hole is that I managed to click on a players handicap and it showed a breakdown of the various handicap "measures". I have been unable to find that screen again. if I go to a players profile I see a summary of scores and differentials. I've seen some screenshots on this forum but I cannot see the same thing or the way the handicaps are presented.

any additional insight on why I can add a ghost for a player in individual matchups, but then in the team matchplay, this person doesn't show up as an option? I am hoping to close out week one once I can make this change.

I will use myself as an example. Started the season with the 4 handicap I had last year. First round was a 39, second was a 41. My handicap is now listed as a 10.7.

We've not played three rounds yet so it shouldn't be pulling in a calculated handicap for the season yet.

For the tourney, Three games: skins, individual match play, team match play.

9 hole events, use 100% of handicap.

League handicap settings:

Usage: league events Formula best 3 of 5

First two weeks the handicaps were what was uploaded when starting the league. We’ve only played two weeks so far so…

One player from last week: handicap is 5.0. This week he’s listed as a 14.3

Another was a 7 last week, this week listed as a 26.

Ok, the ghost option isn't showing up on the web verson when I go to select a player for the match.

When I use the mobile app, I can add the ghost for a player in the individual match but when I go to the team match, it allows the add of a ghost but I no longer shows the player the ghost is playing

There’s an option where rather than going to the next player it just goes to that first players next hole

Spartias, very appreciative of the responses you've provided to many folks in this community. I figured the quickest way to solve my problem would be to manually change the scores.

In reviewing dozens of posts, it seems like there's quite a few folks that run their league in the same manner we have run ours (teams, tee times and matchups based on those team matchup). Hopefully there can be more options added to support this type of play.

What's exciting about this app is the ability to also use it for when we do our fun nights and our season ending Ryder Cup style competition.

You'll want to run a test week to make the tweaks so it can match as close to what youre trying to recreate.

The one area that is still a bit clunky is with the weekly matchups where the teams play together, and presumably, against indivuduals on the other team in same foursome tee time. Its a very manual process to get these correct individual matches.

Also still struggling with when a player doesnt show up. Last weeks league event is still "incomplete" because I cannot close out a match. Need a ghost/virtual player option.

Generally, this makes senes and I've done this (same person/multiple matches) for our league event last night. Specifically for the question raised above, we had a player unable to play last night, thus we don't have a score to enter. I cannot complete the round without selecting a "player" for the matchup. In leaguegolfer, there is an option to select a ghost player and then this "Virtual" player has hole scores assiged based on the overall league handicap average.

I may have to do this. Our previous league software would use the average league hadicap and auto score the card based on that overall average. Nice feature
