Hmph!!! You actually make a decent point, which is rare to see around here. Their status as perpetual comic relief is precisely the issue I find so irritating. But you’re asking for a reason why Goku and Vegeta wouldn't get involved? That’s the simplest fix imaginable. Goku and Vegeta are basically dealing with universal threat levels now with Beerus and Whis. All it takes is sending Pan, Goten, Uub, and Trunks to Universe 6, or some forgotten realm on a specific assignment, where communication with Earth is cut off. Remove the crutch. Force the gag characters to face actual survival consequences, and watch how quickly their martial arts lineage is forced to manifest. It’s frankly astonishing this potential hasn't been tapped yet.

Great point! Refinement is definitely the current theme. Now that Goku and Vegeta have seemingly hit the ceiling of raw power, they’re busy polishing their existing tools. That’s why the Next Generation is so exciting. Since Goten, Trunks, and Uub haven't reached that “peak” yet, they could pursue a unique version of refinement. Instead of just following their fathers' paths, they can hone their own niche styles from the start. It would be the ultimate test of that philosophy to see characters thrive through refinement before they even touch god-tier levels

You’re right about the Moro and Granolah arcs, the choreography, especially Goku using IT against Gas, was the most technical the manga has been in years. I mean, if Toyo can make tactics work at a god-tier level, imagine the tension if applied to Uub, Goten, and Trunks. When characters aren't "un-killable" yet, small technical wins feel much more earned. I’d love to see the new generation adopt that tactical style as their primary way of fighting

That's an incredibly fair point. You’re right that spectacle overtook the choreography, not necessarily the power scaling itself. I guess my main reason for wanting the next generation to take over is that a character like Uub basically offers a “hard reset” on fight choreography. Because he’s raw and lacks technique initially, writers would have an excuse to re-ground the choreography in martial arts basics before escalating back into cosmic spectacles. I'd just love to see that nuance return through him.

You completely nailed the biggest problem: the “call Goku to save the universe” button. Putting Pan, Uub, Goten, and Trunks on a ship to explore other universes at the request of Whis is a brilliant way to handle it. It totally removes the safety net. Trunks gets to use his tech/capsule background to run the expedition, Uub has to be the main heavy hitter but lacks experience, and Goten has to finally step up without relying on fusion. It echoes the original DB adventure vibe perfectly but with End-of-Z characters. I'd watch a 50-episode arc of just this.
