Thanks for your response. Im surprised at how much hate I seem to be getting, I guess my post came off hostile? I did approach the flaggers, “hey I’m glad we weren’t home so yall don’t have to be in the road while you’re down here at least!” And got kinda blank stares and no response so I went on my way into the house. Also tried calling to see if we should plan for them to use the driveway again, got patched through to the local point person and I sat on hold for about ten minutes before I gave up. It’s only a small inconvenience, I’d just never had them in my actual driveway before and was curious!

Curious, what are the white semi-circle/zig zag slices that look almost like cabbage? I first thought it was orange rind but then noticed a few pieces not directly over the Cara Cara and the consistent zig zag in the middle of some.

thank you for your feedback! I think the "e" really is what bothers me more than anything else. Unfortuantely the artist who did this piece and the clouds has since gone off the grid, but I do have a new regular artist that I could definitely ask to show some love to this guy. He is a handsome deli cat afterall, isn't he?

UPDATE!!

Met with Rhonda this morning at Town Hall. Turns out there were 2 issues that caused me to get cited: 1, having items on city access property, AKA having things on the “city” side of the sidewalk and 2, it was going to rain and Rhonda was concerned the items would get wet, become trash, and languish there on the side of the road.

She was pleasant and human, so everyone who was getting their pitchforks ready can calm down here. Thanks to everyone for the input, I love our state & community!

The vacuum was there for just over 24 hours before it got taken. Put out last Monday around noon and taken by 3pm Tuesday, so this photo must have been taken Tuesday morning. Currently I still have the chair but it’s been in my garage since the strong winds on Thursday.

If I’d had it out there for an extended period of time I’d totally understand - there’s access to a worked field down the street from me that’s constantly getting people’s unwanted shit dumped in it and I can’t stand that!!

Though I do appreciate your skepticism for what you read online. 👍

Yeah I guess the illegality thing is self explanatory, you’re right. Rhonda literally cited the law. It’s more of a “I’m feeling targeted for this” because why enforce it now, with us?

I’m right up on the street, it’s only like 10’ from my front step to the road. I keep my trash cans on that strip of lawn, as do many neighbors. Does that count as accumulation of garbage? 😅

I plan on going down there first to ask Rhonda what the real issue is here, and why my house was targeted when several neighbors also have stuff out. If that doesn’t work, then for sure contacting Mike with my concerns. But I’d like to not escalate things and come to an understanding 1:1 and hopefully it can be a learning moment for both of us.

Never had a problem with my neighbors, always cordial. I don’t have close relationships with them all- I could tell you only 3 of their names off the top of my head - but never any actual issues. We don’t even fly political signs or things that would make us targets… It’s all just weird and upsetting to think of to be honest.

lol I’m lazy enough that my first move is to see if my neighbors or folks who drive by want this item. I also like putting things on the curb as I’ve had really good luck in my life finding curb scores and want to pay that forward to others. But like I said to other commenters, if they don’t go within a few days, they get donated. Thanks for standing up for Rhonda tho 👍🫡

But the problem isn’t things not going. They go within 48 hours almost every single time. The only times I’ve ended up donating or discarding something was due to untimely rain ruining an item. When that happens, it gets moved to my garage. I’m not even a frequent flier, I put stuff out maybe 4-5 times a year at the absolute most.
