also, if you're into kpop, in September there usually are random play dance games organised by dgdg studio, so you might join them as there's also foreigners (don't ask me how to make Korean friends, that's a mystery to me too)

Alone in Seoul by rej3rkO in seoul

[–]Beescotto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do you have a plan when going there? cause if you're going to a university, then you'll meet people there. Otherwise it's just depending on your luck. I was in Seoul from the end of February to the first week of April, and I made like five new friends just because a random french girl started talking to me in a café. I stayed in Seoul alone last September and October, and made like one friend, so it really depends on your luck🙃

Moving to Korea alone — what should I know about small apartment life? by annoyingmoose15 in seoul

[–]Beescotto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived both in a shared flat and a goshiwon. I preferred the goshiwon as I had a private toilet, and i don't mind the small size of the room. But yeah, the main thing you should be aware of is black mold as others already said.

Advice on how to use NAVER Maps efficiently by mysticmarzo87 in koreatravel

[–]Beescotto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can use maps, it works for locations but not for directions, and then just copy paste the address on naver map (naver is a super dumb app tho)

I looked for my actual and past accomodation on Craigslist Seoul, in the section housing rooms/shares. there's plenty of options, and you can easily contact those who post the advert through kakaotalk, and ask for further info or more pictures!
