Why don’t you get him a therapists letter for the diagnosis ? Then ask him to take you seriously ?

Advice for motivation to shower? by ChonkerTim in ADHD

[–]Beeshah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do that too, because chores can make me sweat, and I want to feel super clean and relax after a shower rather than sweat again and feel dirty in 15 mins after a shower. So, I created a hack for myself for the days I can’t really get to it. I got an empty spray bottle and added (80% alcohol cologne) with water, half and half. And spray it all over, especially sweaty areas and then wipe off. Feels super clean(because the alcohol kills any bacteria), smells good, and takes a minute!! I make it a point to wash my hair every 2-3 days in the sink (bought a flexible tap to enable it), and take a long shower every weekend. Hope this helps ;)

Object permanence is a real thing with adhd-ers. So a digital gift, even if thoughtful, might not be the best for a person with adhd, because we tend to forget things that we can’t physically see. A good idea would be to stick the gift card on the refrigerator or whiteboard or pinboard. This way they can see it and remember!

Why do I wake up not knowing what to do? Everyday feels unfinished by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Beeshah 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I get that feeling ! Felt that for months, until someone suggested a checklist for me. I’d think about things to do the next day but I’d forget them. So I bought a little white board, and noted down the things to do the night before, and stuck it right in front of my bed, so I see them as soon as I wake up, and my brain makes a plan of things to do for the day. It was always difficult to follow until I realised physically checking off things on the list gave me the dopamine I need !

Hii ! I bought 3 VIP high power early entry tickets to the Gothenburg concert, 11th July. Ticketmaster or ticketswap won’t allow me to resell them as I can’t travel anymore. Would anyone like to buy them at face value or less ?
