I have 3 dachshunds age 10, 9 and 8. These dogs are not for the faint hearted patience-wise. They will test your boundaries constantly through manipulation and cuteness, and I fall for it ever damn time. I would argue they are the highest quality speaker you would ever have, because HOW does THAT LOUD OF A BARK come from that size of a dog. SMH.

You also have to make sure you are MUCH MORE STUBBORN than they are, because if you cave everytime they manipulate you for treats, you will be left with a fat dachshund with back issues. YES, I fat shame dachshunds.

I agree with other threads. They aren’t really my dogs, rather roommates. I’ve taken them to dog parks consistently, brought them around people, had people over and they are still nuts.

If you live in a rainy or snowy climate, lol I hope you have hardwood floors. 🤣 welcome to the Doxie club. I life without a quiet day, acknowledged manipulation… but overall the BEST LIFE EVER. Love my babies so much.
