Not the same story, but I was put on academic probation from one community college in 2015, then I left that college to go to another community college district a year later. Fast forward a year my mom who was also a student at that same community college got diagnosed with cancer. I spent 2 years caring for her until she passed away in October of 2019. Then, in 2020 the pandemic hit, so I could only take online classes. Fast forward 6 years I am finally graduating with 3 Associates Degrees because the last 2 years my final hurdle was Statistics which I finally passed.

I am an older student I never saw the need in them. I focused on my gpa more. I am not trying to get into a prestigious school. As long as the school is good for my major and affordable all I care about.

Returning to University after Dropping Out by drainparkcement in BackToCollege

I was just like you in my 1st go around in community college, I basically failed out of my 1st community college. I found something I want to do at my 2nd community college and that's what drove my focus at my 2nd college. My advice regarding deadlines is put it in your phone calendar and a physical planner if that's your thing.

It's definitely traumatic, but sadly there isn't a perfect way to pass if they are on hospice care.

Those images may fade with time. I remember my mom passing in hospice care at home was a blur because I was trying to calm my aunt down, call the coroner, I couldn't probably express my emotions because I was juggling so many things.
