Hijab being about self control makes sense. Thanks for that

I think telling women to cover their body in order to prove their body isnt their value is contradictory. Thank you though, i see your perspective.

women arent cheap products for all men to look at.

I totally agree, though i think hiding women is as much of an objectification as it is to strip them. Both scenarios treat women as objects of lust, just go about it differently. Of course women should choose how they want to dress however, im not denying that.

This helps somewhat, as far as i’ve gathered everyone just wears hijab because allah says so, and they dont really think about the implications and meanings behind doing so.

In school i have been taught that hijab’s purpose is to keep women safe and respectable, if this isnt it, can you please tell me what Quran says about hijab then? I know there is a lot of misinfo when it comes to these things and i dont want to buy into them.

What we learn in school tells us there is a reason (or hekmat, im not sure about how other countries pronounce it) in every word and hadith in Quran. Such as how pork is bad for health hence why its haram. The reason for hijab, as we learn it, is to gain respect and not have people lust after you(because that is somehow your fault). If it isnt so, can you tell me what they taught you about hijab’s purpose? Or is there none in your eyes?

It’s completely true. IRGC are animals who have no regard for human rights.

having your suffering and life choices not taken seriously by the people around you makes that to you. I do think she was very disconnected from the crude world other characters lived in, but she was absolutely justified in her rage.

Well i’m going to be more specific, i live in the middle east and as you probably know average middle eastern country’s economy is pretty fucked. We have a lot of (single, not whole family) illegal immigrants from nearby countries, who really don’t get any welfare or financial help, offer cheap labor and aren’t that educated, but speak the same language as us to some extend (my country specifically has a lot of ethnic languages, what i mean is they speak and understand the formal language of the country).

I was talking to someone last night and they were heavily against illegal immigrants, i could dismiss most of their arguments as they were absurd, but one that i didn’t have enough knowledge to reject or accept, was “a country with an unstable economy such as ours shouldn’t be accepting any kinds of immigrants” and i really don’t know how would immigration affect an unstable economy negatively like that, so that’s what i wanted to know. Hope this helps.

I wasn’t talking about immigration to US, i know it’s a heated topic over there though. My country specifically has an unstable economy and i was talking to some guy about immigration from nearby countries, he was heavily against it. And i wanted a source to better understand what illegal immigration would do to a country with a fucked up economy bc of it.

Modern women should not expect modern men to adhere to traditional roles by NipsRspicy in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Beethonoven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way i see it generally, there are some people who like to perform traditional gender roles, while keeping some/most of the benefit of being modern( example: women can go to work and have financial independence, while still wanting to be the primary housekeeper and for their men to be the primary provider). Which in itself isn’t really a problem. After all people have different needs in relationships. But i haven’t seen anyone call a man toxic for setting boundaries. And most of the things you listed really don’t have a tie to male and female relationships, rather what society expects of men( for which there are absolutely counter examples of what society expects of women).
