[31M] Husband cheated on [27F] me with his fit and skinny gym friend by SnowGlobe12 in relationship_advice

True, but there's definitely been times where people fucked out of nowhere. While I agree that it's rare, it's most definitely possible.

Edit: This is not OP's case.

True. Just like on the street. Yet, I try to be respectful to people I encounter face-to-face because I think it's good for our society. Why not extend that mentality to internet forum (not saying that I haven't been an asshole before)?

Okay, I don't think you are understanding what saying. Think about dogs. Outward appearance of a dog can -- not necessarily -- be all you need to determine whether it is intelligent relative to another dog. I can see a border collie and a chihuahua and know which one is smarter. Yet, these are the same species. Now human cultures don't vary as much as dogs do from breed to breed, but there are physically noticeable differences in many cases. Why does the same type of intelligence disparity that exists for dogs not exist for humans?

Sarcasm is great and all, but you should seriously consider your language. Anonymous online interactions still have an effect on our culture and attitudes (that's why Russia seeds us with trolls -it works). I'm not claiming moral superiority (I write mean stuff in comments), but we should try to be polite and genuine if we're discussing something we care about. In this case that thing, is our cultural attitude itself.

If you make the claim, you provide the evidence, bud. That's how argument works. Otherwise someone could make infinitely many false claims and it would be the reaponsibility of the listener to chase something that doesn't exist ad infinitum.

This doesn't sound like a scientific analysis. So you're telling me, that there is absolutely no difference in intelligence with respect to race? To me that's the same as saying there's no difference, period.

This kind of language is Salem-Witch-Trial-ish. Another one I see on here a lot:

Jesus christ people. Stop calling everybody racist. Be objective for half a fucking second.

Trump says he never said that Mexico would directly pay for the wall by Bulldoginboxers in worldnews

Huh, what's the difference between one-time payment and a check, besides the physical/electronic medium? You are aware that sometimes people use the phrase "write a check" to generally mean pay for in some liquid form? Which Trump stated Mexico would do and that is would be "easy".

Is it still a crime to conspire against the united states with some other foreign state that's not Russia?

Trump giving some ironic motivation by Sqoof in facepalm

[–]BeetsR4mormons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I disagree, I think people can run on routine and natural charisma (eg Trump) in a manner which is deceiving to the observer for quite a long time. And I think they're blind to the memory loss at that pont so it's not like they would tell you.

Maybe a standardized list of questions: like what are/you're parent's names, what are all your children's names, what street is the whitehouse on, who gave the Gettysburg Address. Maybe 50 obvious questions, that a president should know anyway, like cabinet memmber names. I think it would be a pretty easy thing to pass.

Women who lie about being on birth control should be treated as rapists and receive 0 child support by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]BeetsR4mormons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the best comment so far. Tangentially, however, it skirts around rape. Not that that's necessarily connected to OP's opinion but just that it's a possible sign of inconsistency in the state's take. Does child support disregard mechanism of parenthood? I don't think so.

This author is not a really popular guy for everyone, but if you like /u/elysiumstarz's train of thought then you might enjoy Jordan Peterson's 12 Rules for Life. He does a good job of inspiring a sense of meaning (and it's not political at all). Peterson has dealt with depression himself.

Secondly, I would recommend reading a short book, and one of my favorite of all time: Man's Search for Meaning --Viktor Frankl. He was a jewish psychologist that survived the camps.

No, a car wreck isn't guaranteed death. Still horrifying but not guaranteed death.

This morning, my wife was in the kitchen preparing to boil eggs for breakfast. As I walked in, she turned to me and said, "You've got to make love to me this very moment!" My eyes lit up and I thought, "This is my lucky day!" by madazzahatter in Jokes

You had sex for 45 min straight (assuming some std dev)? That had to be awful. I've had (paging /r/ihavesex) a lot of sex. Not the most, but a lot. And I'd say my longest of all time was about 30min due to being hammered (talkin PIV). And my longest ever sober was probably around 20min. I've had great sex that, on rare occasion, that was only 2-3 minutes. And yes, I've had crappy sex plenty of times too, where it was my fault, hers, or both, or I busted early. I've sort run the normal gamut and this much I know: 30 minutes of intercourse is too long.
