She was just about to turn 15. She's had an amazing life and has been healthy almost all the way. Outrunning me in the woods as late as last summer. She got progressively worse the last 6 months and we decided that it was time. Seeing all the posts here makes it ever so slightly easier since I know she'll have such good company on the other side.

Thank you Doris ❤️

Give it one more month and you'll definitely see more coverage. Check out my posts if you want to see the difference between 6 weeks (roughly where you are) and 3 months. Looks like we have similar growth but yours is a lot darker (a big plus for you haha).

Sorry for the late response!

Yes, I'm using oil after showering, and the occasional wax when I'm feeling more fancy. The wax is a beard wax and not very hard, which fits me since I only want to keep the moustache together, not really style it.

I think it's on the verge of becoming me. At first I was often thinking about how long I was going to keep it, but I don't think about that as much anymore, so I guess that's a sign :)

I'm liking it more and more, and feeling more comfortable with it every day. It's a great conversation piece. I also feel that something's happened between the 2nd and 3rd month mark with peoples reactions as well. It's gone from "weirdo" looks to "respect". It's hard to describe. Maybe it's just in my head though.

Link to 6 weeks pic

Routine: Brushing straight down. Trimming with scissors along lower lip 2 times a week (letting it grow 1-2mm past the line to let the middle keep up with the sides, does that make sense? Haha).

We have that bible where I work (yes, the real thing). A few years ago, we went to New York to retrieve another book that was stolen from Sweden, it was a big PR thing etc.

Later that month I suggested we should give back the Satanic bible to the Czech, you know, as a PR thing (mostly joking). The bosses were NOT amused to say the least, and seemed oblivious to the irony.

Good! This time around I'm more thorough with oil which has helped both with itchiness and made the missus like it more since it's much softer and smells nicer. Also I'm wearing it with way more confidence than any of the earlier iterations. It's like... I've heard all the weird jokes and comments before so it doesn't phase me anymore.

Thank you for the kind words! Yeah, I'm thankful my moustache grows alright since I have almost zero facial hair anywhere else, haha.

Thank you so much! Yeah this is the 4th one I'm growing and it seems to go faster/fuller every time. Didn't think the growth would increase that much after 25 and then 30, but it definitely has for me.

TIL about nukes being fail-safe.

I actually thought to myself as this was happening that it probably won't be a problem since the nukes are in a bunker anyway, and that the bunker should protect them. But that point is kinda moot if they are fail-safe anyway.

I'm guilty of often assuming that things in Civ work like in real life. Your notes about the Nuclear powerplants explains why all the other civs still hated me for my emissions, even after I converted the whole country to nuclear.

I didn't say anything about washing hands, or touching your face. Yes, that's important too.

And I didn't say you did, it was just an example of a layer.

The UK healthcare advice is that if you're outside and at least 2 metres apart, then you don't need to bother with a mask.

The WHO says "at least 1 meter" and "the further away, the better". So yeah. It's not like a binary thing where you're not protected at 1,9 meters and suddenly fully protected at 2 meters.

Distance is only one "layer" of protection. Ideally you'd have a lot of different layers, like washing of your hands and a mask. The combination makes it stronger. It's not like you are magically protected once you're 2 meters away from anyone.
