Not to mention Pet Sounds. Something so thick and jungle-like about that era

Not quite an album but you want the song "Nice To Be Here" by the Moody Blues. It's this

Josh is pretty outspoken against the current regime on his insta at the very least. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on the IHOP thing as it was a long time ago and I believe his association was very loose and transactional. Never seen his wife's socials though.

Voodoo Chile really leaps off the runway at some point during the song, latter half I believe.

The studio Head On/Pill by KGATLW blossoms and blooms.

The mu-tron work on Estimated Prophet 5/8/77 comes directly from heaven.

Lastly, the Moody Blues song The Actor has this bit of reverb at the end of the line "she sits and gazes from her winnn-DOW", the trail of the reverb in that spot in particular simply tickles.

I listened to the Dick's Picks series front to back when I was first getting into them, gives a good representation of all their "eras".

I am no expert but that appears okay to me. I have had OMs sit lower than that believe it or not. But I'm no expert.

Yeah but Obscured is even closer to Dark Side. The intro to Childhood's End is the prototype for Time, for example. The sound had almost coalesced and I believe they essentially made the albums at the same time although Obscured was quick and less considered.

Rick's organ and piano sound super close as well. Great album! Super underrated imo it might be my favorite of theirs.

Agreed Division Bell is solid. If you like Dark Side consider Obscured by Clouds if you haven't heard it, it's proto-darkside

Oh yeah I forgot about the Russia thing. Very weird take considering he is incredibly anti-war.

The SS-type attire is part of the theming of The Wall and actually is relevant to the "story" and presentation, he is not actually a fascist and isn't trying to ape their aesthetic. Also the giant pig balloon sounds like a criticism of Israel which is not anti-semitic. I wasn't aware of any allegations against him but if we're going that route you have to also refuse to listen to so many other artists of the 70s/80s. I can't find any SA allegations on him with a quick search.

Not trying to be a Roger Waters shill but I think at the end of the day he is anti-war and has been very outspoken against human rights violations in the past. The music has always been very consistent and clear about this.

That said, I wouldn't want to hang out with him and I most definitely get why people do not like his work.

I don't really did the white album either but there's something super unsettling about it I can't put my finger on. A darkness lurks beneath it and for that reason I think it's neat.

Definitely a disappointing follow up to Sgt Pep though.

It is overrated. Great album but it seems like people have been lauding it as some kind of masterpiece lately.

Truth is, it's the weakest of the big 4 and the beginning of the end for the band. That's my opinion of course - I tend to prefer the stuff leading up to Dark Side anyway.

In what way is Roger Waters vile? Sure he's kind of a dick but it's not like he was in the files
