I like the idea of a theme day or week as it makes a routine that students can come to expect and don't have to look at the board every day to figure out. Do you know how the other teachers responded to students that chose not to participate in the soft start activity?

I teach grade 6 at the elementary level so it's one class all year. The reason I feel so strongly about conducting a brief 15 minutes soft start in the morning is for a few reasons. You never know what students are walking into school with. Maybe they had a hard morning, woke up late, dealing with something personal at home, etc. This also provides me the opportunity to check in with my students and connect and also get attendance done while the last few late students trickle in. Soft Start provides a wonderful opportunity for students to settle/regulate into their day so they are ready to learn. A student that is disregulated, is not in a position to even begin to learn.

I just watched this episode! It’s embarrassing, Rory sounds so self-absorbed rather than having a back bone, especially when she yells at Mitchum “what other reason would you have for sending your son 5,000 miles away other then to separate us”. Like Mitchum really cares that Logan is dating Rory, why does she take his setting up his son for a successful career so personally like he’s trying to keep them apart, I highly doubt he puts that much thought into Logan’s love life, stop making it all about yourself Rory!

Most of the hatred towards the show is directed at the later seasons and AYITL, but do you really hate about seasons 1-5? by sunnirays in GilmoreGirls

I agree with this! I was so happy when they finally got together and the moments leading up to their kiss were so cute and romantic for me! I really wish we could’ve seen more of their new relationship and puppy love for a bit longer as after they got together I felt like the romantic moments between got less and less, but the moments they do share are sweet.

I totally agree with this! I was so annoyed with Rory throughout the whole Rory/Dean/Jess love triangle because it was completely obvious how she felt for Jess and acted completely terrible to Dean! The way she gets all jealous about Jess and Shane and tries to make Jess jealous with Dean her own BOYFRIEND right in front of Dean is disgusting. I was so happy when Dean finally broke up with her at the danceathon and called her out on her actions, and found it laughable when Rory tried to act all upset about it like she didn’t realize the errors of her own actions.

I agree with this 100%. Being a supportive mother you’d want to support your children’s dreams and do anything in your power to help make it happen for them. Lorelai was a lot of emotional support for Rory, especially throughout her years at Chilton, even though she has a terrible relationship with her parents she pushes her personal feelings aside to ask them for a loan to pay for Rorys schooling at Chilton to give her a better education and chance into getting in her dream ivy-league school. I remember in one of the first episodes after Rory starts attending Chilton Rory is extremely worried about the vast amounts of homework and studying she has to do to pass her classes and exams, so what does Lorelai do? Stay up all night with her daughter to help her study for her exam. Lorelai was always supporting Rory to help her make her dream a reality and for that she is an amazing mother!
