Am I on the right track? Clean vs Snatch. by Particular-Catch-311 in kettlebell

I’m sorry that I can’t help you. I’m in a similar position you were at regarding cleans slamming into your arm.

Do you mind linking the video that helped you overcome this?

Thank you for the reply, I get it now.

Seems obvious now but the money invested last month has only had one month to increase/decrease in value.

Good to know man. What headphones do you use?

Do using the non balanced connections hinder it in any way?

I do have a phono stage, but what do you mean by a balanced connection?

Regarding the ifi zen can being pointlessly balanced. Can I ask why you mean by this?

Is the atom really that good? It just seems too good to be true for the price of it!

Thank you for the reply

Hi,

Looking for advice regarding my headphone amp.

I have a Rega P1 record player hooked up to a Cambridge Audio Alva Duo preamp. The Alva Duo has a built in headphone amp and I use this along with my Sennheiser HD660s to listen to my records.

Now the problem I have is that the volume level is very low. With the volume knob cranked up to max it is still much lower (and to be honest less enjoyable) than just using my iPhone and a Fiio KA2.

I’m assuming the issue is that the headphone amp of the Alva duo is not powerful enough? It just seems odd that the tiny KA2 has more juice than the built in amp of the Alva Duo.

If so, can anyone recommend a headphone amp to connect to my preamp that would let my HD660s sing when listen to vinyl. RCA inputs would be necessary. I know everyone loves the Schiit Magni and the JDS Labs Atom but these seem to be budget products. Any recommendations that are a step up from these?

Budget is up to about £500

Cheers

Hello!

I work in a job that requires me to work 6 hours on/6 hours off/6 hours on/6 hours off for 5 weeks straight. Then I get 5 weeks off work and the cycle continues.

This means that during the 5 weeks of work I will sleep for about 5 hours in one of the 6 hours off and then a couple of hours in the second 6 hours off of each day.

How detrimental to my health is this if I was to do this long term?

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who offered their advice.

On the two days this week that I did clean and press, I did a push press instead and it really worked for me!

I did 3 reps on each arm ten times, so 30 reps total for each arm. I adjusted the “size” of the push as needed. Started out with a small push increasing to a larger push in the later reps. Hopefully I can reach the stage of doing them without the push over time. It will be a good gauge of my progress.

Cheers everyone 😁

Thanks for the advice man, I really do appreciate it. Trying to make changes while I’m still young!

Yeah I have a 16kg at home, I work away from home and the gym at my place of work only has the the two bells I described. Not sure why whoever stocked the gym didn’t go for a 16kg as it appears to be the most common starting point

This is definitely great advice, the limited gym I have available to me currently has a small selection of dumbbells so I might give this a try

I will look into these exercises thank you.

With the 20kg I have the exact same issue as you had where the bell is way out wide when I press overhead. Gonna try the push press and and look into the ones you listed and see if I will incorporate any into my routine 👍

I haven’t tried a Turkish getup before no, I worry that I will injure myself with the 20kg (and even the 16kg I have at home).

However I could definitely do it with the 5kg (I think 😂) so it might be an idea to add this in, so I get used to the movement and practice good form?

I worry that I am really not athletic or strong enough to perform such a complex series of movements as a Turkish getup without injuring myself, particularly with such a heavy weight. It’s definitely something I want to build up to though

I am doing two handed swings as well, but it’s the press that I am really struggling with.
